Druid 22/Divine Champion 8

Base 10 + Spell 9 + Wis 18 + Epic 2 + Focii 3 + Prodigy 1 = 43 (Epic Spell 49)

Wisdom: Gray Orc 20 + 7 Levels + 7 of 9 Epic Feats +12 Owl's Insight = 46 (+18)

Preliminary thought, anyway. Not that I'm a fan of DC-based spells.

EDIT: Actually, reduce that by one. Gray Orcs have a +1 ECL.

Without Stormlord (or another spellcasting bonus level PrC), you no longer get the bugged extra caster levels to boost the epic caster DCs. I'd suggest you draw up your own build and be more specific about your calculations, instead of hamfisting another one. Are you dropping the Monk level?

Fact is, you can't beat a druid-based build for DCs thanks to Owl's Insight, which grants a whole +7 Wisdom over anyone else.

That's +6.

And the monk level is ignored, and thanks to the Practised Spellcaster feat, The character will still gain +3 to DC from reaching caster level 29.

Implosion does have that +3 to the saves. Just checked it myself.

And doing all my suggested changes, we reach an Implosion DC of 44. Unlike mass drown, you can expect to kill something with Implosion.

new design gets to 46.

Implosion is a nice spell that is true.

its +3 puts it on par with a druids +6 to stats plus it requires no buffing to cast it then.

cleric build test
came up to be
10
Epic spell focus 3
wisdom 33 =11
prodigy +1
epic caster +3
=28
imploision 9th level spell with a +3 =12
=40
item +5 to wisdom = +3
blackguard aura +2
warpriest +1
=46

oops was done to level 30 not 29 so 45.
human ends the same as well I believe.
while mass drown does not kill them outright it does take them to 10% hit points Which only requires a little damage to do them in. which could fail if they have 500 hit points or make a save against next spell. A single spell to do them in is much better.

Edit: Damn you, I was going to have fun for days with this stuff.

{ And if we toss away the last metamagic feat, extend spell, we can pick up Greater Spell focus, thus bring the Implosion DC up to 45. }

Thinking about the 'Epic Spells', their DC might be just "25 + Primary Casting Modifier".

true its a nice dc, sad that it still is ineffective against some.

20% chance is nice though. :D

With the equipment we can get in SCoD, one of my Barbarian 20/ X builds can reach fortitude saves of 44+ without the 5% chance to fail the save. He can also hit you back with some 35+ damage per hit.

:D

barbarians have low will saves so best to attack that. Or the always effective IGMSPAM

never played a pure caster so never got in the style of using spells for secondary effect which is a trick folks have done very often. in nwn1 it was GO dc or go away though almost any build will get near 30 for saves less a really odd one.
+4 enchantment to an item, +5 save item +5 save item, base 12 saves add +2 minimum for stats with enchantment = 28

My main has 49 Fortitude and Epic Resilience. So, I'm not entirely afraid of DC builds, no. Hence why I think they're immensely unreliable.

And he hits for 60+ damage/hit with 55+ AB. If we're going to wave e-peens around some.

And Lost, if you read what I said, it's +7 more wisdom. Maximum Wisdom item available on SCoD is +5, Owl's Wisdom can give +12. 12 - 5 = 7.

Maximum for Cleric:

Cleric 25/Blackguard 3/Warpriest 1

Caster Level 29

Wisdom: Base 20 + 7 Levels + 4 of 6 Epic Feats = 31 + 5 Item = 36 (+13 Mod)

DCs: Base 10 + Wis 13 + Spell 9 + Implosion 3 + Focii 3 + Epic 3 + Prodigy 1 + Auras 3 = 45 (For one spell, Implosion.)

Yet the druid build I detailed earlier still beats this score by a point - 46. For more than one spell. :P
