Non casting PvP melee builds (a few levels in ranger, bard or pally are ok). just curious to see how others would try and accomplish this.

Earth Genasi Barbarian 25/Fighter 4, taking fighter in epic levels.

Get 21 Con and use your fighter feats on Epic DR x3 and Weapon Specialisation.

Damage reduction of 16 (17 if you take the Extra Resilience feat), which is enough to shrug off damage from a lot of builds, particularly dual-wielders or any who rely on many less damaging attacks, such as Monks.

With Steadfast Determination, your Will and Fort will be very high.

Have massive strength and use a Falchion, and knockdowns on anything non-str based (Battlemages, mages, rogues, duelists, dex fighters, etc)

Your AC will be terrible, because your defense is in your DR.

Your HP will be massive, and hard for anyone to take down. Casters will have to rely on chipping away at you with IGMS or such, which will need a lot of castings to take you down. Spells that do the most HP damage will need a fort save.

I assume you mean no HIPS?

BG 5 Bard 1 Fighter 14 RDD 10 with Div Shield and Might is quite strong. For overall use I would get the 9 DR (630+HP) but in PVP I'd probably not.

cleric 1
hellfire warlock 3
shadow dancer 1
warlock 25

oh no caster and no hips? heheh right right. so a PvM not PvP build?

monk 20/ swashbuckler 3 / fighter 1 /dwarven defender 6

yes you can guess what that fighter level would be otherwise.

would actually try unarmed vs a duel kama weilding monk due to lack of adamantine kamas though

Well a pvp melee build can be pretty simple. If we're going with no class level, restrictions. I'd say my favorite would be. 1Bard/10RDD/7weaponmaster/12 fighter.

Though I'm a huge fan of 30 fighter. Or Dave's build 26 fighter/ 4 STOA

For against evil only...

30/paladin

Go all Cha and take as much epic smite as you can...

There, surely you can kill any evil character in one round....

Much of the time, you'll have better luck with either a fighter build or a paladin build to toss in levels of Divine Champion (it also stacks well with blackguard). For the fighter, it gives you smiting capabilities that you would ordinarily not have while still granting a constant flow of bonus feats, as well as improved saving throws that are not charisma-dependent.

For paladins, it gives them an "out" for those rare times that they're battling something that isn't evil, using smite infidel in its place (and getting the same bonuses from smite-specific feats!).
