I did not notice any shield crafting scrolls/recipes but I noticed someone craft a shield and enhance it the other night.
Do the armor scrolls/recipes work on shields or am I missing something?
Can you enhance bows with weapon scrolls/recipes?
Thanks!

Howdy,
Shields are enchanted with armor recipies indeed.
To bows some of the weapon recipies works, such as:
+enchantment
+elemental damage
However on hit abilities do not work on bows (they should work on arrows still however)

Thanks! That is very good to know and you might want to add that to your crafting guide.

crafting advice? :D
shields can have regeneration, extra ac, hide move silent or elemental reduction.
Just as Sigil all enchanting follows the rule of three. Once you have three enchantments on something it can not be improved further.
Say you have a +1 weapon , you could add say d4 acid to it. Then later add say +3 and later add d6 acid. then you decide to add keen to it. Now its stuck you can never improve the +3 to say +5. If you wait until its +5 then add keen its also locked but you can not make it better anyway.
Bracers get Armor ac Just like clothe or armour does.
Gauntlest get Deflection ac (just like rings, helms, and cloaks)
Bracers can get skills, and dex put on them as well. If you enchant your bracer with ac, and say dex then you can put three things on your armour.
Boots can only gain con and saves so asking to get the ac enchanted can not happen. Nor can enchanters put feats on things.
The price listed on enchanting items is how much jink it cost the enchater, then the required items not what the enchater will charge. That varies from merchant to merchant. as does the values of gems essences and other stuff.
When dealing with a merchant send a tell what are seeking or be blunt in character. "Show me what you got" could be 5 bags of holding and 2 hours of looking through stuff. Its much easier for both parties if you say "I like long swords".
gems, essences, and weird stuff enchanters can not make are as good as jink. At least to my enchanter.
I spend a lot of time IG explaining what can or can not be crafted and the best bonuses. While a dc 20 on hit seems kinda lame keep in mind that there is always a 5% chance to affect them. Unlike an acid long sword which some things coudl be immune or have a acid 5/- reduction meaning the most you ever do is 1 point.
Armor put regeneration on it its to handy not to then maybe hide/ms or can put elemental damage reduction. Put your armour enchantment on bracers then dex maybe a skill bonus. Go with lesser enchantments and upgrade as you go, some merchants do not have the required gems for say +4 though +3 should be easier to attain. if you want +5 you need to luck into a merchant with a good stock or find the gem chances are you can not purchase it easily. If the recipe requires Rogue stones or blue diamonds you will need the gem.

Fix'd. ;)Product of Void,May 3 2010 wrote: When dealing with a 'merchant' send a tell what you are seeking or be blunt in character. "Show me what you got" could be 25 bags of holding and 48 hours of looking through stuff. Its much easier for both parties if you say "I like long swords. /// In the range of 1-3 enchantment bonus, the other existing stuff on them is a bonus".Â
And the difference between a stock +4 and +5 weapon is almost nonexistent. I've been using a couple of +4 weapons for a long, long time. And even if some of the older players are giving a good price for stock inventory of +5 items, you can turn down the offer and ask for something with a smaller enchantment bonus. While +5 equipment is good, you'll have a lot more fun when you find it yourself. Notice how I used the word; 'when' and not 'if' in that previous sentence of mine.
Taking stuff from the ring-givers is easy, but have you really earned it?
