Ok a lot of you have meet Nick my new Half Ogre PC bodyguard monk.

the question I have is without UMD how can a LN PC get some fear immunity (its a fairly lousy guard that runs away screaming at the drop of a hat) ?

I would think that fear immunity would be tied to Law but for some reason it seems tied to good instead.

the obvious solution is just take a cleric level and grab the good domain since the game dose not care, but i was hopeful for some sort of RP viable solution since Nick is an RP build.

preferences are class immunity (which i think is out for a LN RP build unless i missed something)

Item that grants it that a monk / NWN could use without UMD

running back to town to get it cast on me in the bazaar is not really the option i was looking for but i do know that it is there.

the goal here is to not have to rebuild him from scratch to incorporate UMD.

any suggestions are welcome

Potions of protection vs evil until you can get one of the magic circle belts... thats how I dealt with it with Jade (which has like +6 will save now at level 27 :P)

I take it i need to find someone with brew potion?

If they are sold in game i have never seen them.

found lionheart potions guess that will have to do for now.


on a side note I think fear immunity should be tied to a PCs lawfulness
not their goodness.

A sense of Duty and honor seems more likely to overcome fear then someones
compassion and empathy for other living beings. just saying

Protection vs Alignment: Evil can be brewed or crafted into wand :)

Wands still need umd to use though

For potions, you can drop Vorr a visit for instance... and likely more brew potion crafters will pop up when we later add more unique potion brewing recipes

How many monk levels do you have and how many do you plan to take? 20th level monks are immune to mind affecting abilities.

plan on taking 25 monk 3 Never winter nine (the latter as elite bodyguard training)
the in game description dose not state any mind immunity but the wiki dose so maybe that is my solution (never taken a monk to 20 so not sure which one is correct)

but yes if this is the case then that solves this issue quite nicely

The magic salesman inside the bazaar also sells Protection from Evil as a buff. (Or atleast I think he does.) For a minor amount of coin. - With hours/level duration it would last long enough to do whatever needs to be done.
