He wasn't wrong, it's just never been a case before now, and now that we have gotten focus on it we will try to make sure that we give evil alignment hits to those who kill paladins in mercuria

We don't actually have rules/laws for every conceivable question that might pop up at some point after all.

Okay now I am confused, how is he not wrong? He clearly said it was a one time per character rep loss, and not to worry about it happening again. But you are saying it can happen again and likely will, right?

That was his judgement at the time, now we have a set policy that overrides it.

And yes that is what I'm saying.

Great, Thanks for clearing that up.

Also on a side note, great server. The design and scaling spawning are damn nice. Added into a nicely balanced craft system and the fun of random epic drops.

So I am told two different things from two different DMs. Here are my Screenshots of both. Basicly Candence says 10 rep hit form pally killing is 1 time ever thing, Pelor says it is not, and you will eventually become evil. Just would like some clarification on this point.

PS: Paladins are evil. Here is my proof. Look at the top of the combat log.

Paladins also don't cast animate dead, so at best that's proof that they are allied with someone that's not good.

Killing paladins is evil. Doing evil stuff will give you evil points from DMs. We might script this into Mercuria at some point.

There is no hard rule how much a DM should change you for killing a paladin in Mercuria... DM judgements applies... personally I think a few points here and there should make the point.

Lets say it this way... you get more evil the more evil you do. So it's not like you kill one paladin and then killing thousand more is just fine ;P that makes you just more and more evil progressively.

Same thing with all evil deeds and good deeds. Killing one or saving one doesn't make you immediately good or evil however, everyone makes mistakes (although rarely is saving someone mistake, well except letting some mastermind evil live instead of letting them fall to pit of lava)

Becoming good is more difficult than evil, why? Because being good requires selfless actions, restricting yourself, self-restraint. Killing is hardly ever a good act, mind you it is not always evil either... but going to heaven to kill people kinda is evil ;)

That spell admittably needs to go on the hieroplants ;P I'll just say the Hierophant was a fraud that was infiltrating their lines or something <,<

Yes technically speaking it was a cleric aka Mericuria Hierophant That cast the animate dead, but point remains the same.

So to clarify Cadence was wrong and you can take repeated rep hits? I guess this is why I was confused cause she clearly said it was a one time thing per character.

I find it a bit frustrating that this zone is so heavily DM guarded. Twice now I have been run out by solar's with no RP beforehand. And had repeated Rep hits, though I was told it was once per character. So I didn't worry about it. I would say over the last month 6 different times on different characters I have been penalized by DMs. I would not mind death by solar if it had some fun RP before hand. With a paladin maybe begging for his life. Or perhaps a cleric threatening us to leave or face his gods divine soldiers.

The only reason I really go to this area is it is a nice change of pace from the abyss with different kinda of dangers, rather then dealing with DRs/spell resists you have to worry about mages seeing you and getting off a bigbys or other nasty spells. The eagles have purge invis, there are clerics and mages. It is plenty dangerous, Things go really well or very bad quickly.

And for a chaotic neutral character I don't see why killing paladins for fun and coin is any different then killing things in the abyss for the same motivation. Yet one makes you evil, while there is no counterbalance to make you good.

Umm I will make the counter argument that if your a LG paladin and go up there for any reason, they attack you. So it makes you evil to defend yourself from attack? Also It seems to me if killing is not a good act these Paladins and friends would not be good, they kill anyone on sight, regardless of who they are, LG paladin or CE warlock, it is all the same to them.

They are protecting the plane from hellfire warlocks and stuff that trespass where they aren't allowed.

Killing paladins is evil.

So if I take my paladin up there they will not attack it? And if they do attack her, defending my self, makes me evil?
