Invisible Appearances In Appearance Changer.

I was thinking more along the lines of having something else filling the slot, more in keeping with your character. The shield/bow/swords or the backpack fit some characters perfectly, but others would choose a scarf or tabard. A cloak certainly doesn't fit my character, nor do any of the other options for that back slot. I'd make the cloak invisible and RP it as something else.

Helmets have the hat, headband or eyepatch options, but no ribbons, hairpins or headbands. I can see wanting something which isn't there in-game but can still be easily RPed out. :)

A simple solution to the invisible cloak model, concerning IC circumstances, would be an additional layer on the character's clothes. The cloth would have come from the cloak.

awww shiv wears cloth but the plate looks awesome with his cloth helm.

I would even say the plate he wears looks more like leathers to me *shrug*

I always though the skimpier the outfit the better the ac :P

There is no right or wrong in opinions its just an idea. Though a wizard or sorcerer is rarely going to go to the abyss in plate less they used 3 epic feats and one pre epic or just like not having 9th level spells or accepts spell failure.

I think the appearance changer is pretty freak'n cool as is myself. It allows folk to change anything to look as they wish. Can do as I did with a few characters design how you want them to look and just modify new gear to look like old.

Its interesting to see what creative mixes people do with their gear colouring or attachments etc. Makes meeting new characters interesting on not just rp but how they look.

You can have those feelings, but the invisible shield option was deliberately added, it's not there by happenstance. Also, the appearance changer doesn't work quite like that. If you put in an entry with no model for that entry, it'll use the 'default' instead. It just happens that there's an existing 'invisible shield' entry that can be put in. It says this in the appearance changer script. There used to be no invisible shields, then cryptc enabled it.

And if you're not able to take criticism to your argument without taking personal offense, I suggest you keep out of debates. ;)

I could also point out that 'Full Plate to bikini tops!' is a straw man fallacy, among others, but I'll leave that out for now.

If you want to bring more draconian and restrictive policies on equipment appearance in, I don't think this is the place to do it. :P

EDIT: This was in response to a quoted post by Ceremorph that has now been deleted, along with the quotation in this post.

I'd gladly add those if someone knows how... the invisible shield for instance is possible since there is an invisible shield... there is no such cloak (atleast not for human male I checked now)

Cloak and shield, yeah. Hands/Feet/Body/Head invis seems like it could be abused though...if that's what you meant.

I thought we had an invisible cloak. Hmm.

We also had an armor set that makes you invisible except for your hands, feet, and head which I used as a PC once. I thought it was rather funny actually; he claimed that he had used a gnomish bubble bath and it left him looking that way.

I am not certain if either of those is there any longer.

[Edited edit: Forget I said anything.]

There are invisible cloaks for some races/genders - but that's only because the models for those cloaks don't have versions for them. Human males show all kinds.

I can only imagine 'invisible' ones to be possible if one of our modeling types just made an empty mesh and added it in.

a cloak to turn me invisible sweet....oh you mean hide the appearance? sure why not.

Great thing about appearance changer is now if someone buys something people can not look at them and go "OOOOh they are wearing X".
