A few of the random character generators have some fun concepts. I've never used them myself, but had I the time and desire to create something new I think it would be a fun challenge to adapt some of the zany stuff they spout out!

Here are a few:

The acrobatic, gentle shaman who is dependent on medication.
The crippled, amiable pharmacist searching for a family member.
The plain grave robber who has a demonic connection.
The weak, patriotic actor who can't resist a fight.
The tireless, principled, amiable ranger with a false identity.
The incoherent, unfriendly bodyguard with a heart of gold.
The unambitious midwife who is seeking meaning in life.

So far as nordic goes, there's always the option of shamans/oracles. You may very well be seeking an unborn child of prophesy, and sigil could be the best staging ground for your search of...everywhere.

Neat thing is, you can RP justify some interesting combinations and mindsets. Lots to work with.

Want nord? How about a simple bad ass Barbarian from the Northern Lands, A Scimitar Wielding Badass who values courage and honor from the exotic lands of Zakhara, A druid from the Isles of Gwynneth they off that Celtic Vibe. I always go for where they are from first, then center a build around that. I'm new to NWN2 so my building isn't solid yet but i think it's important to start with your character background then go from there..

Well, few concepts from me:
  • An Illithid, who decided to violate a way of life of his kin and to start a new independent life.
  • An arrogant (but maybe good-hearted) noble with monarchist views, who had to leave his country, after a communist/republican revolution happened there, and who despite everything happened does not want to give up his name and legacy and tries to live the old way in a new place.
  • A wandering stormlord, who is also a harbringer of doom (worships Talos).
  • A creepy halfling necromancer/demonologist, who also has some object, which he believes to be alive and ocassionally conversates with and asks for advice.
  • A retired Yuan ti soldier, who seeks to open his national cosine restaurant in Sigil.
  • An elf schemer and swindler. The one, like Victor Lustig, who sold Eiffel tower (which he did not own) for scrap twice, or Heinrich Schliemann, who faked the finding of City of Troy (many people to these days believe, that he found it) and during Crimean war brought prices for gunpowder and explosives up, close to the end bought all paper in the Empire to sell it back to Russian government for trice its original price (He was exiled for his schemes and when he after long exile wanted to come back to Russia, His Majesty, The Emperor Alexander II wrote a resolution on his inquiry to come back "Let him come, We'll hang him!").

If you like Fey, have you checked out the Killoreen on the Wiki? Nymph will eventually be remade as a +3LA base race with a racial PRC, so you'd probably want to wait on that one to avoid the challenge of a high-LA race.

A little research might help too. If you're not familiar with the factions and other parts of the planescape setting, a lot of that information is available online, and you never know if one of them might just make a light bulb go off in your head.

And of course consider the planes as a whole. If your character is not a Sigil native, why would they come here? Chasing a bounty? Fleeing a price on his head on his homeworld? Looking to make riches, or on a holy quest from his god? Or is it simply a waypoint towards an eventual goal on one of the outer or elemental planes?

I'd really have to know more about you as a person before I could feel comfortable giving suggestions. Although, I have personally been fond of the idea of trying to imitate a few of the Faction PrC's. Maybe the idea of playing a Blind Sensate interests you? :P

I always suggest trying a character archetype you're comfortable with to start, mainly just to acclimate yourself to a server that's going to different from just about anywhere else you've played, both in lore and in systems. It'll give you an idea of what's to be had, and also could lead to you falling in with some fun players who inspire your next character concept.
