A Bit Of Help, Please?

I know, this thread isn't supposed to be here, but really I had no idea where to write this one down. :P

So, here's the thing: until some days ago, everything was fine. NwN2 was working, I had my character progressing in levelling up, and so on.

Until two-three days ago.

Every time I launch Nwn2 (with nwn2.exe, nwn2main.exe, nwn2main_amdxp.exe or nwn2Launcher.exe) I have black screen with no audio and my cursor as some sort of wheel running, just like when it's loading something.

I tried to: reinstall the .NET Framework, DirectX 9.0c, rename and/or delete the NwN2 folder in My Documents, Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable and 2008, Disable intro Movies, Check on Event Viewer, check Dxdiag, reinstall the whole game three-four times, and maybe something else i forgot.

The only things I installed before these problems began were: Batman Arkham Origins and a patch of SUPERAntiSpyware.

I tried to unistall both, but the problem was still there.

Do you have any suggestions please? I'd really love to come back in Sigil :P

P.S.: I almost forgot, every time I have to close it with Task Manager. Alt+Tab is not working. And checking under Applications, it says "Does Not Respond".

P.S.: my NwN2 is the GOG.com version, don't know if that matters or not.

Anything coming up when you run dxdiag for your display? It sounds like superantispyware did something to your registry.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/179113 Update directx too.

Is it possible for you to roll back your system to what it was before you installed BA:Origins and that antispyware?

What version of windows are you running?

Might try running it in Windows XP compatibility mode.

Right i forgot my comp specs (but I already tried with Win XP compatibility Mode, still nothing changed):

OS: Win7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

Processor: AMD FX-6300 Six-Core

RAM: 8,0 GB

Video Card: NVidia GeForce GTX 750

I ran DxDiag, but nothing strange seem to happen. I already updated my DirectX too.


I think i have a way to come back before I installed the Antispyware and BA:Origins, I might try this weekend.

You've probably already done this, but go into your Nvidia specific control panel and see if you've got any settings set for nwn 2 specifically or globally that might be causing the issue. I think there is something called FXAA, which is a type of antialiasing that works very poorly with the game.

Also disable your intro videos. A quick google search should provide the how, it's just a matter of going into the install folder and modifying a value in setup values.

Already done this one, but nothing changed unfortunately.

I'll try to check for the FXAA, but I doubt that's the problem since it worked well and I made no updates the day NwN2 stopped working.

I'll have a look anyhow, you never know.


EDIT: Checked, and it's already deactivated.
