Yes, maybe better to talk oocly about it.

As Mauric used Hester's shape to kill Auren he was seen and thus our disguise was revealed. Mauric and Eloe runned back to Alersia's room, which is located in a tall tower. Soldiers followed and are hammering at the door.

I think we have the following options:

1. Fight them and break the siege. We would have to fight the entire army on the way out I guess. Our Chance to kill Lycinus: 0

2. Escape. We are sieged within a tower. Perhaps we could escape through a window. Propably guards will be waiting at the other end of the rope. Chance to kill Lycinus: Low

3. Blame Hester. Mauric and Eloe blame the kill on Hester and chain her until the guards get in, but how would they know it? Alersia would go into jail, Mauric and Eloe arrested as they are her bodyguards. Chance to kill Lycinus: 0

4. Alersia shapeshifts into Sigrid. But why are Mauric, Eloe and Sigrid in Hester's room?

5. Restore Hester's disguise. To do so the kill of Auren has to be blamed on Mauric. Chance to kill Lycinus: High
wrote:When the guards come in, they will see a bashed, tortured and bloody woman on the ground and two weapon ready assassins in the room. What would they do? Dispatch the assassins first, bring them into jail and heal the woman to question her later?

Hester will tell them:
That she's the true Hester and shows them her signet ring. She will tell them that she has been under the influence of the rebellion leader (chaotic neutral Mauric), a powerful warlock who has cast a gaes spell upon her. He wanted to use her to get access to Lycinus, to murder or blackmail him. Through the geas she couldnt tell lycinus the truth nor act against him. After his disguise failed, he came back to get ride of Hester, as she knows their operation basis and plans. She would give them some evidences and maybe find a witness to speak for her.

Meanwhile Mauric and Eloe will get thrown into Jail.

After her bluff went through and shes free again, she will make her way to the Jail and bring two puppets who will take Mauric and Eloe's place in the jail. Lycinus will see this solved and wont fear anymore danger so he might be a easy target now. After hes dead Mauric can disguise as Lycinus and we welcome Hester's father at the castle...

Point 1: Mauric would not simply let her have the bag. He would have struggled for it of course.

Point 2: If attacked he would attack back as simple as that. Not just take a dagger to his shoulder without knowing what's going on.

Mauric sees the original plan as hoplessly lost. No matter what they do "Hester" will be seen as the prime suspect and her disguise no longer reliable. He opts to attempt to influnece the other count instead. Escape through a Gate spell would have been relatively easy or even the PnP version of Flee the Scene had it been allowed and he wanted to escape by himself. He has no reason to trust Alersia at all at this point and all he see is betrayal and has no way of knowing her intentions and would of course see her go down with them if he had too. There is no way for him to calculate all she intended there in advance.

Had she made a suggestion that they staged a "Hester" vs "Hester" fight that had been another thing.

And the attack roll.

I think here we have two very chaotic creatures clashing. Both have an idea of how to get out of this tight situation they are in, and both have acted spontaneously without informing the other. And if anything that is good no complaints here.

Here Alersia has found what she has planned changed and has acted quickly to try and gain control of the situation. This of course has meant attacking Mauric who is now going to feel both his own life and his leadership of the group threatened so his response is quite understandably a violent one. Whilst the struggle for control is quite fitting to both your characters they'd probably also know the following.

Their foes are not weak and they are not stupid. They know, or rather they think they have seen a young lady with no training in combat kill a magic user who rather brutally and decisively dealt with the seasoned warrior who was the last person to attack him. They know she escaped with an invisiblity spell. They will be expecting magic and they will likely be bringing some of their own to deal with this. Maintaining a disguise now is going to be very, very difficult. Their wizard on the other hand has gone. For all they know she may be dead. They are in a very tight situation. Turning on each other might not be helpful. Whilst I tell players you can do what you want I also must be realistic. I have to accurately represent the dangers your characters you face and the consequences of your actions.

Whilst I have no problem at all with the internal conflict in the group, in fact I encourage it your characters are all evil ruthless and calculating. They are also as likely to use their allies to keep themselves safe, and an ally you who is dead or imprisoned is one that is much harder to use.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Some general thoughts of mine:

Please keep in mind that there are many ways to achive an objective. The situation changes, sticking to a plan might not be necessary anymore.

When in doubt think about the overall goal the group wants to achieve. IMO you guys made a big step towards it last time. You just have to follow up now.

Alright, not telling her intention and trying to anger Eloe and Mauric might have been a bad move. They would have ruined her dress and scarred her skin when asked. It just wouldnt look that real.

I would see it as a surprise to Mauric, so he wouldnt be able to react in time. You propably think other.

How to handle surprises anyway? As soon as both players are informed its no surprise anymore and the other player will think of a countermove.

When Alerisa sliced up her arm with the dagger and the men hammering at the door I would also assume that he wouldnt see a threat in her. Especially that she isnt combat ready (only a dress, no magical rings, spells, etc). She would have used the suprise to scissor him but anything afterwards like the dagger would be subject to his Mauric's reaction.

Hmm I think character vs character interactions are flawed by nature. As soon as something isnt discussed between players before the situation happens, it crashes.

I request a reset of the situation.

I will allow that if both Krayt and Eloe agree.

To that point where you and Brat came into Hester's room.

Because
a) if we continue it looks like it ends in a broken party with one or all being caught by the guards (with no disguise). Even if we all make it out, its a weird situation because it gains a duel characteristic. Who of us will manage to kill the two lords first? I am not sure if we want this.

b) Even if that situation was meaned to anger Mauric so his action looks like Hester is in danger when the guards come in, the way I started this was wrong. Character vs character can only happen when it is spoken about before it occurs.

I don't understand how (a) is a problem, and I don't like this reset given the current circumstances *cough cough*. but (b) was your idea, I'm not insisting.
