So my computer decided to do a windows update , and after the update, my client extension has failed working. Iv tried reinstalling it, deleting the former components and really rather not try reinstall the entire game if possible.

The "Apply" option on the HDL works if I do it on the menu button but only until I exit the game.

Any ideas here?

This has happened to me in the past. I had to reinstall my entire game, then reinstall the client. Just reinstalling the client didn't help, unfortunately.

Worked like a charm, save for the fact it no longer works with my steam extension for screen capture.

I don't even use the client because it doesn't want to work with my computer. When I try to use it I crash repeatedly over and over.

Looks like the registry entry (accessed through regedit.exe) you need to edit is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>WOW6432Node>Obsidian>NWN2>Neverwinter

Once there, one of the options is "Path", which needs to be set to your NWN2 install directory (e.g., mine is C:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2)

Oh and Nimi, you do realize that NWN2 has screen capture built into it? Simply hit PrtScn on your keyboard, and a screenie is automatically saved to your installatio directory.
