As many of you know i and a couple of other staff members have started a rather large fey plot, I have received both positive and negative feedback over the last few weeks! so i would like to keep the lines of communication open. Its still in the early days of the plot line but it is intended to run throughout the year allowing players a chance to make worth while changes to the server and experience some fey fun!.

If you have any negative or positive feedback i would be interested to hear it here! just try and keep it constructive.

I have enjoyed this plot a lot so far, but it does seem to have stalled slightly, and may need a push from the DM's, or an opportunity for some players to push it.

I would just caution about running a year long plot as I've had some experience with these in the past. It can be hard to keep something going that long (as tedium can set in for both players and staff). It only really works as a theme, with several smaller plots opening and closing throughout the year. You need to have opportunities for closure and the emergence of new plots. You can't rely on the same players and/or EM's over that long a time. A Theme for the year works, but trying to drag out a plot for that long can be problematic in many ways.

If opportunities for closure arise, I would recommend closing on them (you can always do it in a way that feeds into possible future new plots). Either way, I would recommend staying flexible on it and keeping in tune with what is happening with the players rather than trying to stick to a script. It's always better to start up new plots mid year than to forcibly drag one on (it's hard to predict what will be fresh and/or inspiring for players and EM's). And closure from time to time is important.

If you want! IC they all turned to dust and I believe they've been removed from the drop list. So either sell them to a merchant for a bit of gold return, put 'em in a trash can, or hold onto them as a relic of a bygone age. :o

Incidentally, I'm a little biased on the whole fey plot thing, but it's been a wonderful chance for character development and has lead to a lot of interesting RP. So I'm pretty happy with it as a whole. ^_^

It's really worrying to hear this is going to drag out over the course of a year, but I have also made some effort to avoid becoming too involved.

A lot of the stalling came in part of a couple of very involved players fading out a bit, and a couple of computers breaking down of others. More often than not, the campaign events have been fairly consistent otherwise.

I'm going to be completely honest here, without attempting to shit on anyone's parade. I know how much effort Ariella puts into her events, and I respect her greatly for that. She's done a swell job of keeping things active throughout the server and dedicates a lot of her own time as a volunteer. It's a thankless job!

However, there are a few points I think need to be touched on... mainly a few lore clashes that have more than a few confused and me scratching my head to try and piece it together in explanation. This is, of course, in the interest of connecting the dots and not a personal reflection of Ariella, or anyone else whom may be involved. ♥

- The Raven Queen. A 4th edition deity whom has been introduced as part of the current plot, is an unaligned diety according to lore (later becoming neutral in 5th edition). She becomes undead (though not a necromancer from what I can tell) once she passes from the mortal world and becomes Nerull's consort. It is only once she overthrows him that she gains any significant power and takes on his portfolio. Currently she is being made out as an evil fey necromancer trying to steal 10,000 souls from inhabitants of the cage.... whether it's true or not, these do not seem actions that bereft one of the unaligned/neutral alignment. It seems as though there might be some inaccuracies between depiction and lore? I'm not entirely sure.

- Invasion of Sigil. I'm always a bit iffy on this one, though I know there were instances before my time where things of the sort have happened (the far plane, the slags in the hive...) but it seems like if there were a large number of fey within the city causing trouble in large numbers as they have been over the last two months, it's something the Lady would have picked up. If not she, then at least the Dabus. Especially with armies of shadow fey vs autumn fey vs winter fey vs Raven minions brawling in the middle of the bazaar and such. I've lost track a bit (as there seems to be a constant introduction of new npcs), but a common theme that was brought to my attention seems to suggest repetitive grind of being attacked, fighting off the fey and having those of import constantly escape. It begs the question, why are they even fighting within the city? If this is a fey war, it doesn't seem prudent to be duking it out in the Cage. Perhaps this is a plot element yet to be revealed.

- I think also, a break after such a long plot like the Mnemur marathon may have been nice. People didn't get much of a chance to celebrate, unwind or reflect on the events that happened in that final battle before being scooped up by the next plot. I think it may have stunted growth a little, and not allowed for conclusive satisfaction before being thrown into another life or death situation. One that seems a bit, uh, tailored in it's theme.

Hopefully that helps a bit as a culmination of things I've picked up or heard from around the place, as well as my own views on the matter. That being said, I fully admit I could be wrong on several aspects of lore as I'm not terribly well versed in fey matters but hopefully if I am then it can be addressed and I will stand corrected!

Thank you guys for the feedback! few bits

- The Raven Queen. This is prior to her ascension and pulled from lore, she is a mortal sorceress. It can be rather confusing to find the correct one i have chosen to use as there are half a dozen different versions. I would reveal more but then the plot would be spoiled, so you'll have to wait and see.

- Invasion of Sigil. The Lady cares very little for the day to day of Sigil, It will take considerable time before she considers it worthy of her intervening, This is the year count down. At this point the constant attacks are intended to create an air of constant conflict, further they have to be run on different times and days to allow everyone a chance to participate.

The reason for the conflicts is yet to be revealed and the number of npcs is a direct reflection of PC activity's, However there are only three sides Unseelie (Winter, Autumn), Seelie (Spring, Summer), Shadow court (Shadow Fey, Fiends). Excluding the fiends this is how the fey courts break down.
