So, just now (11:30 PM EST), the server portaled everyone to (another?) server. Everyone. Same as when you first log in. Can someone explain what's going on here?

This means that part of the system had to be brought down for an automatic OS update, but players were first automatically re-arranged to avoid dumping them offline completely across that process. That causes a portal to initiate, like you would see at first login.
