The title offers us an example, a drow character is named as Oloff Pearson. What is your first thought of it?

According to the official AD&D material, the drow from the plane of Ysgard have very generic norse names.

My genuine first thought is "It's not a dwarf?"
Sounds like a dwarf name to me.

Ah, my mistake, there I've written a wrong name in the title, what I was trying to write was; Leif and Olaf Persson, dark elf brothers in arms.

Anyhow; here is a site with the official list of the npc characters, names, races, factions or sects: http://www.deathstar.org/~krlipka/ps/pe ... index.html

My first thought is roughly the same thought that has been running through my head for the past couple of weeks.. Oh dear god not another special needs drow..

Do people not even consider how insulting it is to make something like that to those who actually LIKE playing Drow? Moon dancers out numbering any other type is bad enough but tolerable when they at least know what they're doing with the character, some of those who obviously slaughter every aspect of the race with their ignorance are little more than a slap in the face of those who bother to spend at least five minutes reading a wiki on it before rolling the toon and even more so to those who have played them for years.

Drow do not bark, half breeds are NEVER allowed to live in the Underdark let alone claim nobility, any drow child born crippled in some way is killed in infancy, we are in 3.5 not 4th edition the Dark Seldarine is still in full swing, there has been ONE good ranger born noble in the Underdark who later escaped it, posers should be exterminated, even Moon dancers have lore to abide by, Drow males cannot claim to be from the Underdark without showing some signs of deference to females they are hardwired to it like a 1950s housewife is to bake..

(sorry) :cursing: :beatdeadhorse: :oldlecture:
