Does taking Improved KD on a huge creature provide any benefit ie. is there an effective gargantuan size in NWN2 in terms of determining the differences in size between the creature and its target for the knockdown roll?

Presumably, knockdown maxes out at the maximum size.

Right, unless Obsidian didn't code for anything larger than huge. Which would mean that IKD doesn't give you any benefit for a huge creature. I'm wondering if anyone knows or knows how to find out if Obsidian coded for anything bigger than huge.

Considering that quite a few monsters in the campaigns are huge, I'd say it exists. Now, I wonder if Huge creatures have their own Monk progression... :rolleyes:Stonehouse,Jul 28 2016 wrote: Right, unless Obsidian didn't code for anything larger than huge.

Huge is supported by the game engine. No size larger than huge is, however, so you don't have to worry about the Red Dragon in the Astral any more than its ludicrous strength score.

Perfect, then there's no reason to take IKD on a huge creature... like a huge dragon.

Dont believe ikd changes your size for knockdown just adds 4 to your offensive roll. So huge +12 ikd +4 + str bonus. Vs size opponent and best of str/dex bonus. Although having ikd allows medium creatures to knock down huge creatures and small can knockdown large but not huge.
All though theres reall no way to test less debug actually shows the rolls never seen the rolls combat log just trys and shows weather hit miss or resisted.
The only test i could think of would take ages to determ and that would be to make a huge creatur with ikd and 18 str and spam it on a med creature with 10 str 10 dex If it ever resist then no IKD does not benifet already huge creatures.
A say ages cause theres only like 2% chance that the med creature will roll high enough at the same time as the huge creature would roll low enough for the creature to resist.

Unless this was changed for Sigil, then IKD works like below. If it was changed, it's not documented anywhere. You're describing how IKD works in PnP.Plaxy100,Jul 28 2016 wrote: Don't believe ikd changes your size for knockdown just adds 4 to your offensive roll. So huge +12 ikd +4 + str bonus. For reference, here's how base Knockdown works. http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Knockdownwrote:A character with this feat counts as one size category larger when he makes a knockdown attack. All other knockdown conditions still apply.
In other words, a medium PC can knockdown large NPCs with just Knockdown. With IKD, that medium PC can knockdown huge NPCs.wrote:A character with this feat can attempt a special knockdown attempt, which does not cause damage but does not provoke an attack of opportunity. A character may only knock down creatures that are one size larger than itself or less. The attacker makes a d20 roll modified by his strength bonus, and the difference between his creature size and the target creature size times 4. The defender makes a d20 roll modified by the better of his strength and dexterity bonus. If the attacker meets or beats the defender's roll, the defender is knocked down. Prone characters cannot attack. Characters receive a +4 bonus to attack prone opponents in melee, but a -4 penalty to attack them with a ranged weapon.
