I don't know if there was actually a response in that post. Clearly we disagree, but I'm not even sure where or how it is that we disagree. I'd like to understand your position better, but I feel like every response I get from you is from a different conversation.
wrote:Baatezu can find other evils to he... Oh, whats happened? No evil characters? How unexpected, considering you implying on server being so multi-aligned.
This is a non-sequitur.

Not even sure where this came from or what you mean by it.
wrote:Thats the problem: you do not require, and almost no one roleplays their character sheet. Server seems to reward you only if you are do-goodie. I am talking about it aloud only because I do not want SCoD turn in to BGTSCC.
I don't think this is a problem at all. Not being forced to play your character sheet encourages variety of RP and character concepts, which is exactly the kind of thing we want in a setting like Planescape where there are WAY more races and classes than the builders could ever dream of developing. And I will have to respectfully disagree about the server only rewarding good characters.

Lore-breaking can't be good for any sort of a roleplay. You are not able to re-convince me, and I have no point to argue with you. I am not stoping you for creating another 14 WIS Cleric with casting 9 spell circle or epic Hin Sorcerer with 8 wisdom.

From Sigil Pvp thread:

And honestly, at this point, I don't think many would raise an eyebrow if we did.
Not like I am arguing with that or having something against, because this thing is pretty true. Just answering the question.

Xanos Messarmos was a such one. Not 18, but still high, I think.
But if we had a full server of Half-Orcs Sorcerers with high INT - that would be a lore break.
For now - around 80% of server has a WIS score of 8.

Okay. I'd like to understand what you mean by this but frankly I think your standards a bit unreasonable in a dynamic and fluid environment like DnD where literally anything is possible.

My philosophy with regards to RP is that any and every kind of RP is fine as long as everyone involved is having fun and enjoys it. Even if it is "lore breaking". Clearly, you don't enjoy the RP on the server. But it seems to work out well for everyone else but you, and considering how we're one of the most popular PWs that still exists... I think it'll continue to work out well for us too. ;)

I'll just drop my opinion in here so it's not just the three of ya posting back to eachother :P

On practically every server I've been on (aside from servers which have a seperate underdark area), are predominantly neutral to good. The question here seems to be 'why is that the case'? Or rather, 'why does that have to be the case'?

D&D was built on a system, where a group of adventurers would go out and slay Evil[/B] monsters. That was the original intention. As the game developed, people started to like 'grey' more than 'black and white', monster races became playable, and with that, alignments had to be adapted. Suddenly we had evil aligned campaign modules in PnP, evil prestige classes and base classes, as well as a growing number of playable 'evil' concepts.

Frankly I believe the reason for this is because, it's just easier for DM's / EM's to deal with a group of all neutral / good characters fighting evil. It's more obvious who the 'bad guy' is, and truly evil aligned characters do some pretty messed up stuff RPwise to be evil. eg, to become a Palemaster, one has to sleep in a coffin with an undead being. And chop your own arm off and replace it with a zombie arm. That's just messed up. So generally, the mainstay content of 'evil' RP, is hard to RP without making people alienate your character for being a psycho. Hence why most evil chars I've seen on Sigil, stick to being sneaky, or a subtle corruptive influence. The few that do go full out on evil RP, often don't stay long, not because they are RPing badly, but because it's actually stressful for other people to deal with, and probably equally stressful for the person playing the character.

Now, I want to address something that seems to be an accusation thrown at the Staff. EM's / DM's don't encourage evil events. Might I ask, how many EM's / DM's have you PM'd about running an evil aligned event for your posse of bad guys? I reckon you might have tried once, maybe twice, max. Then just resorted to PvPing players and calling it 'evil RP'. I tell you for a fact, a Paladin could run around and use the point of 'My code dictates I must oppose evil whenever I face it', and they see fiends all day, so they go out and PvP all the fiend players on Sigil. They would get the EXACT SAME RESPONSE that your group is getting. And that is to stop, because people are getting fed up.

This isn't a flame thread, nor am I flaming, I'm pointing out something that has become abundantly obvious recently. So my advice?
Quit complaining about where you THINK the server is going, and ask an EM or DM to do an evil plot with you. And when you're done with that evil event? Go grind areas for loot, or sit around the Bazaar and insult people like Morthos does, or try to corrupt / provoke people like the fiends do.

Also for the pointer of fiends are not RPing correctly evil because they get 'chatty' with Celestials, I'll leave this here for ya.

Wikipedia (not FR wiki, actual wikipedia bcos I cba to go get the monstrous compendium out)

They do this for their own purposes, and it typically yields a dead mortal or a pleased demon lord (in some cases, when succubi are used as assassins, both ends result). The male equivalent is an incubus.
And for another thing to think about.
wrote:The Brachina, or also known as a Pleasure Devil, is a type of devil in the Dungeons and and Dragons role playing game that specializes in corrupting the servants of the gods. They are the result, depending on lore, of either an extremely powerfully levelled Erinyes, or the crossing of a Succubus and an Erinyes. The Brachina originally appeared in the Fiendish Codex II supplement rule book for the 3rd edition ruleset.
You can't corrupt the servants of the Gods by sticking a sword in them. Which would mean said Brachina would go back to the Hells, for a very VERY unpleasant chat with their lord.

I hope this post raises a few points which should give the discussion some more... direction, or rather, leave it as it is. Evil is on the server, thats abundantly obvious after playing a character for more than an hour. Thus, I don't see the need for this thread at all >_>

I asked for a plot. Got it denied because a mind flayer needs a reason to be evil and a very deep story behind it. I cant have a plot, I cant PvP, I cant enslave people after their consent because they think that they will be able to fight back and it is not my fault. Just awesome.

I dont want to be like 'that another' illithid who looks more like his brain was damaged during the ceremorphosis and he is doing the things wrong.
