Khari went home. Sigil was making her a bad person, so she ran away. :P

I actually have always steered toward good characters. It has only been since paying here that I've played evil ones. Though none of my characters are wholly good or wholly evil either

So the setting contributes? Care to elaborate?

Khari is/was young, naive, and sheltered. She had never been on her own until she came to Sigil, so she was impressionable. Seeing the things she saw in the Hive, having gone to evil places like the Abyss, Hades, Carceri, etc. That should damage someone, so it did. This is just the perception of one very flawed character though.

I understand. The only reason I ask you to elaborate is that I think the setting favours neutral and evil characters as well. I think there is an element of what Rob said too.

I would expect the planes to do anything but push people towards evil. Barmy maybe, but when you can go and see for yourself exactly what happens to naughty boys and girls you would expect everyone to be pretty well behaved.

Of course, that would make a pretty boring setting.

Now... who wants to play Ravenloft?

Evil and Neutral PCs have an easier time.

Sticking to your moral compass often means that certain approaches cannot be chosen- limiting what a character can do.

Often I have seen the good alignment being used against a character in RP (certain dilemmas work only with good aligned toons) putting the character in a lose-lose situation.

Good often also means trusting, mercy, forgiveness- another set of traits that are easily exploited.

It can be hard to be good. And rarely it is rewarded in the game.

And Ravenloft was fun :P.

In a way, it does favor evil and neutral. Evil outsiders can mingle all over Sigil. Evil can join every faction and twist it to thier own ends. Good characters in the way of that make easy targets. If a paladin sees an evil act that doesn't break the law, such as a Mercykiller flogging a man who just stole some food or a necromancer animating someone's corpse, what do they do? Some good gods demand the destruction of undead, but there are no laws agaibst undead in Sigil. Paladin can't break the law of the region he is in but he also can't ignore his sacred duty. It is this dilemma good characters face.

That and Rob's point is also valid. Playing evil is forbidden fruit as you can do things you would never do in real life.

Think other servers suit good characters better. Or at least have more to offer them as it stands now. They will most likely have a community of likeminded to join. While in sigil you will most likely go about tending your own business unless you have someone to group up with. Servitude to a good deity don't get you anywhere here, elsewhere you can climb the ranks of a clergy or holy order. There is still a lot of opportunities though but who want to feed the poor and get submerged in endless mundane task that just will go on forever without any actual result?

Maybe it's not the lack of good-aligned characters but how they are portrayed? Even neutral characters can look much more good than some of characters I saw. I dunno, I just felt something was off in some good characters? Or maybe my characters did not know them well?

I did not start a good character, because I am still learning. I have few ideas, but I still wonder about goals of character in Planar Nexus of realities...

Attacking Abyss on regular basis? Too suicidal. Perhaps spreading good and love? Too unrealistic...

I have a feeling for the character concept, but it still eludes me.

Can't say that the server favors good or evil.
