when fighting alot of time when i cast a eldritch spear or chain (vitriolic or brimstone, sometimes i also add hellfire blast ) it will show the animation and effect shoot forth and hit the target but is does 0 damage, if i am using hellfire blast i still take the damage fro the blast as i should. but in the combat log it reads as follows jenavee attempts ranged touch attack on what ever creature *hit/miss* (die rolls) . the times that the animation works and does no damage or no effect at all i get this : Jenavee attempts range touch attack on "whatever" ** (die rolls) . shouldn;t it say hit miss failed anything between the two asterisks?

I explained this to you already :P
When using a weapon in your main hand AND Eldritch Blast, the game engine will consider your blast a weapon and thus Deflect Arrow (Mauhrezi have Monk levels, despite being a f*cking Tanar'ri) will work against it.

What Tomekk said. Just have your hands free and deflect arrows won't have any effect to it.

Question is, does this make shields have Concealment against Eldritch Blast? Does this effect other touch attacks, such as most Wizard spells?Mr_Otyugh,Aug 20 2016 wrote: What Tomekk said. Just have your hands free and deflect arrows won't have any effect to it.

I've read in a few places that ranged touch attacks here are affected by shield concealment. I've yet to verify that personally, though.

They are affected, yes. But I'm yet to verify if equipping a weapon has an effect on that to way or another. But I know I've had melf's acid arrows miss due to shield concealment.

Yup. I can confirm that shield concealment blocks ranged touch attacks. In my shall-not-be-named testing with Deliang, it regularly caught his sorcerer's orb spells. I never really noticed it doing otherwise.
He was, however, dual wielding quarterstaves at the time. Have never thought to test the concealment while empty handed, but neither Storm Avatar nor Entropic Shield's concealment cares about what you're wielding and shield concealment is just applied to your character as concealment, so I'd be surprised if it was any different.

Is this true when fighting Slaadi in Limbo?Tomekk,Aug 20 2016 wrote: I explained this to you already :P

Although, it is worth pointing out that if one is going to make a pure blaster warlock, one shouldn't need a weapon.
