WIth the recent change

* Clangeddin set Improved Uncanny Dodge to be a flat sneak immunity with no aura

Is this going to apply to NPCs as well? Or only PCs?

Its bad enough on PCs that a level 5 barb can now ignore SAs from a level 20+ sneakier and is totally against the true nature of the feat, but if it is applying for NPCs as well sneakiers need not play on sigil as ruin weapons won't help(which it sucks to have to use them anyway meaning you don't get to use any of the cool weapons)

The issue with the aura has been linked to the random debuffings, so I think that's why the aura is going away.

I can't tell if the IUD feat actually applies to NPCs, it depends if they are triggering the persistent feat when they spawn.
What I can say is that the Shadowdancer henchman does not trigger it until you (and it) rest, so if this is the case for monsters as well then they're not getting any immunity.
Anyways, if they are getting immunity, then a proposal was to make Epic Precision (which would probably be renamed to Greater Precision or something at this rate :P) feat a normal feat rather than epic, so sneak based attackers would be able to get it at level 12 at earliest rather than 21, that should improve their viability a lot.

As for level 5 barbs being immune to level 20+ sneakers it's a complete non-issue.
Level 3 (THREE) Clerics can be immune to SNEAKS AND CRITS (With Living Undeath spell) of level 20+ sneakers, but they'll still be crushed in 1 round because of the opponent's AB and normal damage against their low HP. The same applies to level 5 Barbarians who won't be able to compete against any level 20+ creature, even if immune to sneaks only (they'll still be critted and one shotted most likely).

I sincerely want to know on what server does Barbarian getting buffed result in anything negative :P Especially when a level 3 cleric can do the same thing.

However, I do agree that this in general shafts Rogues a lot, especially vs NPCs (going PvP without Epic Precision is kind of suicidal anyway)... and poor Rogues are already kind of shyte. Can the check stated in the description be somehow applied to this?

Any change is better than how it was behaving (the aura randomly stripping all buffs). So that is a big step. Yay!

Most solid SA builds (should) take Epic Precision, so I suspect this might not be as big of a deal as some may think.

Further, the only major mob types that might benefit are really the Barbarians (lvl5+). There's not that many Rg8/Ass5/DD6/ or SToA5 mobs out there.

(I also feel bad for the barbarian class and so this doesn't bother me at all, even if I often play Rogue SA builds. Maybe someone will actually take Barb 5 for this? - I still doubt it.)

____________________________________________________________________
P.S. I know the original pnp works comparing classes. For example:

Improved Uncanny Dodge relies on class levels, meaning that a Rogue 16, Assassin 9, Invisible Blade 5 would have 30 levels of "sneak attack classes," so a character would need 27 or more levels from barbarian, rogue, SD, assassin, or shadow thief to be protected; otherwise, they can still be sneak attacked.

So the easy and least invasive scripting choice is basically all or nothing. Either way, I don't think the impact will be significant.

Finally, I just want to say that Clangeddin made a commendable attempt with his aura script. Nwn2 seems cursed sometimes.

Rogues tend to be better on lower magic servers, since their sneak dice don't really change between a high and low magic setting, but the other damage options improve with higher quality gear, spells and racial stats. Since you usually pop out, do a few hits and scurry off to stealth again, ab isn't too much of an issue either. This generally makes sneak attackers less good (but not terrible) on this server.

Assuming the rogue has Hide in plane sight it its makes things a lot eaiser but.. depending on the oucome of the buildd, its not 100% solable.. atleast mine nnever are, making them a official support DPS pc with enough UMD it broadens the perspective of the support. I like it honestly, just dislike struggling solo wise alot of times. but I understand Leona's concerns as its a change to how the pc works, and I'm not sure on how dramatic of this change is but its not fun altering to compromise for such

well Epic precision is all cute and what not but half damage still sucks when you should be doing full damage. I'm not saying barbarians don't have their problems just this sort of screws sneaky SAers... even more than they already were. Not exactly the most friendly server for that type as has been said previously.

I know, Its frusreating for me too honestly.. But as I was told it was to fix a bug. not to bash the person who applied the fix (more of a workaround imo) there had to have been other options to fixing it perhaps? it was the arua it gave suposidly caused compleate debuff on the affected pc. I'm not programer by anymeans but why/how/when did it cause the defbuff are my questions as i would think there's another possible fix for this other than what was applyed... maby its just me being delusional or wishfulll thinging, i dont know.. I'm just not gunna complain furth on it as it done and nothing I can do about it as i have 0 expericne with this nor do I have acess to change it from the git go.

EDIT: I'm not telling you to stop complaining as I have no right to, I'm just expressing myself like you are in another way ^^

If only there was a way to make sneak attacks do full damage with a feat, and a way to add the craven feat (+2 per 1d6 if not fear immune) to the game.
