Did anyone have the chance to check out the Painbringer after the server update?

Well if you still didn't and don't want any spoilers then stop reading the rest of this post, for those that either have and still don't believe they saw what they saw or don't mind spoilers keep going on.

I'm not sure if this was intended or was simply a mistake of some sort, but right now the Painbringer comes with a very interesting and nightmarish new DR.

It comes with something like two layers of DR to physical dmg:

-Damage immunity (soaking up to 34 points) of Physical damage
-Damage reduction (soaking up to 30 points) of damage

All of that for a total of 64 physical damage points blocked per hit landed.

Now I'm pretty sure I was using a cold iron weapon at the time so its DR is surely not cold iron xD, probably it will be either /good or /adamantine and that just to bypass the 30 DR

Some even pointed out that the Painbringer might have cold immunity and about /10+ elemental resistance (negative dmg too)
While I can understand the reasons behind such change and make it more challenging, I think it penalizes (and not just a little) all those builds that rely more on many attacks than single powerful ones and well... most of the creature weapons focused characters, that have to hope for a critical hit to be able to damage the Painbringer at all.

Here what I'm talking about. Thoughts?

Uhm, possible. The % immunity would explain it, so it would vary given the character.

I think I'll have to run another time and play around with the PB and see also if the fix to Holy sword works as I was getting the message "Your target resisted to all your damage" thingie different times, but it could have been the general 30 DR kicking in here.

Anyway thanks for your infos though :D much appreaciated

Pretty sure Painbringer was always intended to be a really hard fight that required specific tactics and group coordination. I don't personally think that should change.

You mean spam specific spells at it until it dies? :P Although last time I went down there to fight it, it went down fairly easily. DR breaking usually solves most of melee's damage off.

Well, I've never actually fought the boss. But, if that works, cool. Obviously, you need to bring the right weapons to pierce DR, but that seems fairly basic...

Whenever I fight it, we do use some strategy. Usually Anything keeps it distracted while the rest of the party clears out the mooks, then we can 4 v 1 him without interruptions.
