JUST DO IT!KingLeoric,Jul 29 2016 wrote:Tell this one more time and I am scripting it right away.Ceremorph,Jul 28 2016 wrote: Oh so tempted to come up with a new level above gatecrasher, that automatically spawns if you're a cleric, have EDM, can cast arcane with a certain DC, or other hallmarks of a powerbuild. ^^Lol, this would go a long way to inhibit 2 level cleric dips (mostly Sigil don't-bother-with-the-sheet bugs me on this, much like 1 lvl warlock dips...), some stormlord builds- and you might need to include some of the other great offenders such as double-dipping nymphs (AC) and probably quite a few others. Fun idea, though.

It wont even require making new mobs. Script can just add some BG and Cleric levels to the monsters instead, and give ac/ab/hp boosts.

It's not a good idea. All you'd do is make sure anyone partying with someone that has those "powerbuild hallmarks" will suffer even more than the powerbuilds anyway. And I doubt it'd do anything to decrease the amount of such builds, might even increase it just because people with no such builds would have to adapt or not group up.
*edit* Tomekk got there first.

D&D angels have genders, they take names from real world mythology but then pretty much immediately start to do their own thing.
On a topic of making more builds viable, I am certainly in favor of lowering the overall power of the monsters on the server. Powerbuilders are going to run rampant over any enemy that isn't specifically meant to utterly destroy them, and designing monsters like that is pointless because you shut down all the people who don't want to build a variant of the three builds that are obscenely above the power curve. If you want to see more unique builds, you have to allow them to be able to do stuff without being in the best of the best gear.

You might want to re-read the stuff on the Great Unknown. It's more a force than an actual deity. Thinks the Star Wars Force.Taihou,Jul 30 2016 wrote: P. S. Great Unknown is just a god the same way, other gods are. those are just Athar, who believe, otherwise.

Shadow, I'd have to say that most builds are viable. The only truly bad build is a core-race rogue without caster levels who tries to solo. Even pure melee builds can handle most areas if they drop a few points in UMD.
The problem is that everyone is so greedy for L30 that they're set to gatecrasher 100% of the time. When you put the game on hard mode, it's going to get hard.

If thou rally hatest clerics, best way to decrease their population is to RP-police them: if they do nay RP believing and/o serving a true god (because Lore-wise archons and spirits do nay give divine casting, but only petition some diety to grant it, but subject MUST follow that diety and it's teachings) be it the one in character sheet or their own homebrew one, doesn't matter, force them to RP it or de-level them to state without cleric levels.Ceremorph,Jul 29 2016 wrote: Amazing what a trolling suggestion from an Admin can do.
So next up, let's discuss the "arrow of cleric slaying".
If one understands, that with playing a worship-based divine caster comes responsibility, he may re-consider bothering with that...
Only this would nay likely work with FS and SS, as lore-wise FS and SS may just as well be an involuntary chosen ones (of the god, or of the spirits in service of a god respectively), in who's regard his god does not care i he worships him or nay.
But general suggestion: agnostic/atheist RP-wise should be preventeth from divine spellcasting.
