Well, where is it?

Within 3 days of your new ruling you disenfranchised the SCoD Discord. Is this the sort of staff attitude we can expect moving into the future?

No to be rude, but to be rude.

What do you expect from a sensitive topic that got some folks all upset about, if not a lot of folks >.>

But not me, I just go with it :P no sense in complaining in something I can't change, rulings and such.

You, sir/ma'am/person/puppy, are both helpful and undermining my point.

I guess my point was too poorly expressed. Until earlier today, there was a sticky. Right at the top of the page, next to the link for the Wiki and IRC. Then the disagreement between NZ and the staff took place, and they took the link down. The current link provided by Mr. O, while a nice gesture, was made despite the staff because, as NZ explained, the staff has pulled out of the Discord.

So, my point is this: The new rule was backed with the addendum that the Discord provided a venue for the OOC interaction that would no longer be taking place in the OOC Room. But now SCoD no longer has an endorsed Discord (the staff has pulled out and the link has been taken down.)

So, I for one, would like to see the staff respond to justifying their rule with a detour that they've turned their backs on.

It was taken off the top bar because it is no longer officially endorsed, as the owner of the Discord is not staff and has moderation rules that differ from the rules that staff would like.

**That's it. This doesn't change anything but the fact that it's being made clear, "Hey, staff doesn't moderate the Discord."

It's still for OOC Sigil discussion, and Mr_O provided a link to it for just that reason.

Not super complicated. : x

**Edited for clarity.

Do people really need to be made "clear" that opinions expressed are the opinions of whoever posted them? Since the staff "owns" the forum, does that make every opinion posted on the forum the staff's?
Right. That was poorly phrased. I meant in terms of the stuff being babbled about there being moderated by staff.

This is pretty much the sum of it, We encourage ooc communication and community building. However we need it to be clear that it is run by players not staff and so we cannot be in charge of what happens there, Nor are we to be approached there for server matters. Depending on the results of the on going poll in discord a link to discord will be returned to the header or placed in a sticky topic with a clear disclaimer. If it is to be player or staff run has been left up to you the players.

To the OOC room, Such was an almost unanimous decision by the staff. Because the staff received all the complaints and such that has stemmed from our previous lax ruling over the years. I have seen many people minimizing this, But ultimately you are not the one who receives them day in and day out. We did not make the rule for our own pleasure, It was done because it is currently a necessity. The ruling might be removed in the future when and if we devise an alternative mechanical solution. This is not a mistrust of the population or a power trip, It is a matter that simply has had to be addressed, For the enjoyment of the majority. The fact that we very rarely add new rules and have so very few, is a clear testament to the trust we place in you all to be mature.

As i said in discord we are open to alternative suggestions and comments from players, A few people have PMed me with such and their words have played a part in our current discussion. The same can be said for this topic, But only if suggestions are offered in a mature way.

At least this time around communication has been handled in a more mature and respecful way toward the playerbase. That is already a sign of improvement.

P.S.
I had written a few more considerations earlier, but after reading the poll on Discord most of them were not valid anymore so I removed them.
