If one wishes to know how good his build is, I think one should attempt to PvP with it. Because while mobs are dumb and undertiered compared to "hero" exactly when one hero meets another, his true strenght will become visible.

And full fighter, or any melee build WITH NO caster in it will actually have extremely hard time there. My experience showed me, that everyone with "interesting" builds will be just humiliating him with their unique playstyle, which could include, but be nay limited to...

1) Keeping in AOE spells to death
2) Sneaking in HIPS, exploiting thine lack of spotting skills
3) Outhealing/regenerating thine "huuuge" dmg output
4) Being immune to crits
6) Insta-killing with death magic / summoning death tyrant to insta kill thee
7) Dat daze spell
8) Those bigby spells
9) AC 70+ in buffed, or in some cases unbuffed state... try outroll that!
10) Running faster than thou and casting/throwing/self-heal
11) Buffing oneself to invinsible state... and thou can't Morde, thou art nay caster!

Thus my recommendation - ask someone (My suggestions: Serkan, Nocilis, Demolisher MK III, The Grey Vizier, Lazarus, Deliang, Untaramar, Itsuyashi Hiromo/Kotaro Hiba) with not so pure melee build to PvP thee and thou will see where true power is.

The fact is that a RolePlay focused server should be calibrated mainly for every player against monsters, and not for player against player. If PVP ensues, if there's any imbalance that will be a lesser problem in the PW-Roleplay server, with few consequences and little in entity. Instead, calibrating a server for the highest PVP needs, will eventually disgregate the player base because monsters will be inevitably be stronger or weaker than expected, depending on the nature of the calibration, resulting in people dying as cockroaches on monsters which usually they would equally face, and erasing and resetting mid-bosses like there was no tomorrow.

As I can see from the information I'm gathering from people's discussions here, the server might have been calibrated for PVP rather than for PVE. This means constant imbalance like warriors vs casters, which however will be as much stronger as the calibration has been made to ensure that the first ones can have a "chance" against the second ones; which, as I have read, are enhanced in their every part as time passes.

Frankly said, there's no reason, entertaining-wise, to create a warrior-like character hoping it will be useful in the long run too, and that it won't be made obsolete by any other caster and warrior-caster combination.

Briefly, the server mechanics are telling you: do not create a warrior character, it's not worth it and you will hardly have fun (not impossible to happen, just difficult and depending on tastes).

p.s.

Certain immunities on players' characters, as: critical hits/flanking hits; death; poison; etc. should not be never acquired through items, as a general rule. If a DM allows those items to exist, he/she should be very parsimonious on according it to someone.

Why do you refuse to acknowledge that the way to fix this is to give fighters feats that are specific to fighters?...

:banghead:

Also, I wonder you can even speak in this matter if you've not even bothered to play in the PW yet...

Fact is, fighters are boring, not severely underpowered, like you keep implying.

PvP doesn't come into it, because of course casters are going to have an edge there, having to only focus on one opponent lacking the proper defenses.

And really that's where the caster comes in, particularly the gish. What makes a cleric the defined "OMG OP!" class is that it can go ethereal, start casting, and a couple minutes later be ensconced inside an inpenetrable magic gerbil-ball. And then throw in Divine Power to get a fighter's attacks and AB. Druids aren't as insane on the offensive side, but the crazy ACs they can achieve are so far beyond fighters as to be silly.

And then there's the arcanes. Bigby/Avasculate/Isaac's, possibly with some assay resistance in there. It may be boring, but it's still incredibly powerful, particularly if focusing on one enemy. And really what you're also getting is the same factor that makes ranged melee more survivable than hand-to-hand: if they aren't whaling on you while you damage them, you're far more likely to win. Sure, a total cheese melee like scythe EDM weapon master can do enough damage to not worry about those hits the Hulking Hezrou or Painbringer might land, but even then it's an "I hope I can outlast them".

Because it won't fix anything.
Prove is that for every of those feats you'd like to add, casters would still have more than enough resources to counter each of those (thus making warrios obsolete, once again, in a party).

Reading other people's suggestions and complaints, and not speaking while claiming to say the absolute truth. If things are as players tell, I'm making my arguments on their words. If things are not like they say, then they have a false perception about those things or they're lying.

I don't have to. I already spoke on this matter, by presenting an example of a few feats that would ACTUALLY fix things. You discarded it out of hand.

I've discarded it because it doesn't solve the problem. Adding one immunity and one ability (namely fear and ignoring the critical hits' immunity) will only make fighters a little useful, so they won't become obsolete at level 10, they will be useless and, at most, usable as disposable cannon-fodder, once casters will almost replicate their fear immunity with a spell, thanks to the many slots, and emulate the critical-hit overstepping using other options they already have (like spell damage, summons with energy damage cast on weapon, etc.).
I can say, again, that the only viable option is to dampen the casters' power a bit, and I won't add anything else to the discussion, it would be redundant and tedious for you and others. :)

I'm done with you. Log into the server before you make cursory judgments based on things you've never even bothered to try yourself.

Not only did you not understand what I presented with the Champion example from 5E, you also haven't even tried a fighter in the game. I have. I didn't like it, but that was because...even at low levels, it was boring. You keep acting like you have a leg to stand on, but you haven't even bothered to create a single character on the server. I'm not going to continue talking to someone who thinks he "knows it all" when he clearly doesn't.

I don't pretend that I know it all. But I've played enough PWs to know that you cannot balance things in the Electron Engine (NWN2's engine) by debuffing classes, especially when it's only a few classes that need to be brought into balance with the other classes. I've also been playing D&D-based games for years. I'm sure I have a lot to learn, but I never made any statements on something without at least trying it out.
Oh, and keep in mind, we're talking about PvE here. I don't care about PvP here. This isn't in PvP server.

You shouldn't be rude with me, I haven't given you any reason to be irritated. :)
The only reason I'm not playing yet is that I'm waiting for a scripting job that's underway, on some PrCs and races. As thing are now, I want to spare me the effort of writing a background and creating a character that I'll have to recreate again once the re-scripting is done. :D

I'll tell you when I'll be in game. :P Peace bro'. :)

You lied by omission. You acted as if you've intimate knowledge of all this stuff, when it's now clear you don't. Tell me when you actually create a fighter and do some PvE stuff, "bro".

Edit: Oh, and in a logical argument, "I heard it from others" holds very little water.
