I agree, whilst others will have plenty of spare time to voice their opinions by Wednesday, I can imagine some players will not be able to come on and formulate a decent answer until the weekend.

Also, I have a question.

The voting for these meetings, not actually done in the forum? Or done via PMs?

If it's done via PMs, might I ask, we have a thread where characters within Factions can just vote a single word.

Yes
Or
No

to the agendas which get written up in the first post? Because, I mean, assigning 1 vote to a player isn't very fair, when they might have alternate characters in different factions who would vote the other way.

And if you think players would abuse this to make 10 alts all in one faction to vote one way.... well, that should be obvious that they're doing that, given they use the same 1 login on the forum?

Also, is the voting weighted toward higher ranked Faction members? Do Factotums count for 2? Or rather, why do Namers even get a vote? There's supposedly thousands of Namer berks in each Faction, do they each count for 1 vote?
Rather, Factotum and higher being a position of worth within the Factions, I believe only Factotums or higher ought to get genuine votes. Though this doesn't mean Namers can't talk or influence the votes, just they don't get one.

Just a loose one.
Yup, if we still have a bunch of outstanding speeches on Wednesday, I'll keep it open. We're still waiting on Athar, Godsmen, Sensates, Mercykillers. . . anyone else?

I'll try to work up something for Athar by end of today.

Mander's back, but he's got a kid as I understand. I know how important it is for dads to spend time with their kids, especially new kids. Mine was only born 6 months ago. Krayt's death knight isn't the type to give speeches, if I understand correctly. And the other few Athar I've seen are alts, I think.

Each faction gets one vote, and ultimately the job of deciding that vote goes to the Factol.

But! Its not very fun if the DM makes all the choices, so 99% comes down to what the factioneers involved in the quest have shared with each other and their factol. Since this particular hall of speakers "quest" has been in session for the past 3ish weeks, the spokespersons and and factioneers involved are already known/appointed, and will be getting a mass PM about their thoughts on each of the questions brought up before I figure up the final vote tallies and announce the results. (Of course, first we have to get through all the speeches)

Right now, it looks like our list of questions to vote on is -
1) Do we remove the Harmonium from the Bazaar?
2) Who do we replace them with?

If you're looking to get involved in a meaningful way in the politics, then communication with the other PC representatives for your faction is key. In the case of the Sensates, that's Quinn (Factor), Kelth (Factotum), and Aleis (Factotum). As far as I know, Quinn is the appointed spokesman, unless he makes other arrangements.

Making threads on the faction forums might be an idea to consider for future Hall of Speakers events, but we're too far along in this one for what is being discussed in the faction headquarters to have an impact on what is going on during the course of - IC - a few hours in the Hall.

This is also a good time to bring up the fact that discussing what's going on in the Hall during this round of speeches in game is still against the rules. Discussing what happened before I re-opened the thread is of course fair game. Messages between factions and factioneers (which I greatly encourage!) should be done on the forums.

Is Kelth a Factotum? O.o I thought he was a Namer.

But yes, communicating with other PCs has been the name of this game. Right from the very beginning Aleis has been trying to form alliances with other factions by speaking with people in them. She's spoken with Argent from the Sign of One, Kala Ta'Kan from the Believers of the Source, Dace of the Mercykillers, and just about anyone she thinks she can convince.

There's also some back and forth, figuring out plans and strategies. Argent was the character who initially suggested that we go the route of abstaining and calling in a new session to discuss new terms to be put to a vote. Then Aleis went to Factol Montgomery and discussed the Sign of One's plan, and that's what ended up happening.

Vizier being an outlaw/excommunicated would probably not be giving any speeches in the signer's HQ as well.

It may be possible the Godsmen have to find another spokesman due to Kala's current state, unless the council is a different continuity ?

Cheers Mimi for the answers. Having that explained makes... everything a lot clearer.

Might I suggest then for future reference, that a sticky be added to each IC faction forum section, of which players have managed to ascend a character past the rank of Namer?

I know, I know, "use your initiative, find stuff out IC", but it actually genuinely makes sense if the Factotums and higher are 'common knowledge' for everybody who joins the Faction, so they can be pestered by all the Namers, right?

I mean, my Oni Spookums, who do I go to speak to, to ask about Dusties? If I could just check a sticky on the Dusty page for all the Factotum +'s, I'd be a happy chappy who didn't need to bog all these threads up with questions :P

EDIT: I know this isn't a perfect solution, given not everyone checks the forums...

So on second though, I know an OOC board was added to the login room to allow for players to shove up event ideas...

Maybe we could have an IC notice board added to the entrance of each Faction HQ? Maybe has a list of higher ranked players (maybe even a few regularly used higher rank NPC's) as well?

I'm of the impression, the more things that can feasibly be moved IC and IG, in their entirety, and off the forums, the greater access all players have to it, as well as stopping the large gaps between interactions since it will be more on a (presumably) daily basis as opposed to week long gaps at times.
