I wonder how many of the male population on the server are played by woman and visa versa.

Ah'm ah female player an my main character es ah female character.. one tha gets inta ERP on ah fairly regular basis. Et aint the only reason ah play on Sigil.. but ah luv tha fact tha this server caters ta all tha stuff ah wanna do in ah persistent world. Action, Adventure, RP, ERP, OOC chattin wit folks. Sigil es tha best!

Ah'd say my current time split fer server play es 25% ERP, 25% hunting/grinding/'action'/PVP, an 50% personal an public RP story lines an plots.

Tha ERP es been roughly 75% male an 25% female fer my character. An despite tha claims ah jus females bein round.. ah aint had ah lick ah trouble findin ah ERP (er even RP) partner male er female. But..tha OP might have ah point. Cause.. an ya didn hear et from me.. if yer wantin some good ERP then by an large..(heh)... tha male charcters/players seem ta be better at quality ERPs fer this server. >.>

*hides from the fem folks* :P

Ah guess tha males tend ta work harder at et. Yeh.. yeh.. phrasing. But ets true. Ah tend ta get multi line thoughtful *ahem* replies from male player/characters in ERP an usually jus ah line er somethin from females player/characters fer ah response. Maybe tha females my character es been wit er jus used ta lettin someone else do all tha work? *shrugs* So ah guess... good on ya fellas? ~.^

Any how.. ah aint sure how ah'm wreckin yer server fun time wit my ERPs?

Ah keep everythin private an don advance on anyone without askin an keepin everythin legit OOCly. Ah participate in plenty ah non ERP storyline. Ah took part in... an was quasi useful in... two DM/EM driven plots jus yesterday. So... ah'd like ta think ah'm doin my part ta keep tha non sexy time RP goin too.

More important..ah'm aware ah who ah been ERPin wit.. an every one ah them characters es doin tha same thing. Drivin an participatin in plenty ah non ERP plot. Maybe there are some folks round wha are favorin tha ERPs over tha regular RP.. but ah think they're in tha minority? Ah don wanna lose somethin ah enjoy jus cause some folks er.. maybe?.. bringin part ah tha server down?

Instead ah callin fer no ERP.. can ya try an fix tha actual problem ya got? With folks only doin ERP? Maybe?

Also.. ah dunno if ah'd say females get ignored when they do bad stuff? Point an case.. my female character currently has ah Harmonium (an likely ICly ah Mercykiller) warrant out fer involvement wit nefarious dealings. Someone outta tell both them Factions ta start ignorin her doins so ah can skip tha legal repercussions part ah tha RP. XD

Can't really understand what you're trying to communicate there Jelika. But from what I do understand, you as well, did not really read my posts correctly.

I never ONCE said, ban ERP. I made a comparison. Half the problem with these forums, is people not actually reading the context of my posts.

If you do not believe you are one of these people, then you are clearly, not a part of the problem, and have no need to defend your roleplay. It isn't being attacked.

The only RP I am attacking, is those that break lore, for the sake of ERP.

Edit: I should have been a bit more clear in my first post. Which I will do so now.

To make things clear. The fact that they are women, or even a lot of them, isn't a problem. Nor is whatever they want to be.

Big problem.

Paladin does something that is breaking their oaths. All for the reason of ERP. Regardless of whether that character would do that or not, and the people Sigil attracts, the Deity would not allow this. This person would be a fallen paladin if they went through with such things. Said things would be completely against their oaths.

This is a problem that isn't always related to ERP. It is simply most commonly mixed in with ERP, and the people in this particular community. At least among those that commonly hang out around the Bazaar. If characters want to do these things, they should at least accept the consequences such actions would have.

@Wizards: This is not a presumption. This is lore. Even to deceive your enemy, would not be a legitimate reason for most paladin orders. There is no twisting this.

That is more eye candy on the screen i think then anything. If you are a straight male or a lesbian would you rather look at an attractive female then a male or unattractive female/transgender/whatever.

The argument is age old among the roleplaying community. Immersion wise a lot of men either can't or really don't have any intention of playing a true female personality. That ruins it for many serious RPers and hence heated arguments ensue. Before people start triggering here, there certainly are serious roleplayers who can play cross gender superbly.

As for setting an example one way or another???? In this community or any roleplaying community for that matter, isn't going to change anything nor affect it in the slightest unless there is social or peer pressure behind it. Even if there is social pressure undoubtedly the dedicated rebel will aggressively strut their alternative psuedo multi-sexual characters.

Outside of DM inference for a villainous plot which is the sole exception. As long as PCs don't delve into the throes of having sex with children, sex with ?unwilling? animals  , or sex with mentally limited individuals including those who cannot make rational adult decisions for themselves, all of which are clearly wrong and extremely distasteful. Otherwise, i mean, you don't actually have to sit and watch two consenting adult characters RP, erp, or whatever with each other.

Can ya give ah example tha ya actually seen happen? Maybe ah couple? If ets ah huge problem ya must be able ta offer up ah few quick situations where ya seen tha sorta thing?

Aint gotta use names... but ah aint seen this occur on tha server myself fer ERP er anythin else so ah'm curious.

Also ah aint been over ta Haven in ah dogs age. Outta wander on over an see wha's up over yonder. :plotting:

Frankly, I think a lot of the perceptions of Sigil being a Social Server amounts to confirmation bias.

It's one thing to have a Celestial and a Fiend being intimate and to have pet peeves about certain characters. It's another thing entirely to say that Sigil is basically Haven 2: Planescape Boogaloo, because it's not. Sure, at times it slides in that direction but the focus is and always will be on RP.

Personally I'm pretty happy with my experiences. I think it is fair to say that you will get from the server what you put into it. And if you're not happy with the way things are you have the power to change it. If you think that there is a lack of substantial plots then you are more than welcome to make things happen yourself, either as a player or as an EM. Get things going. Be the change you want to see.

DarkPerin,Jan 17 2017 wrote: Actually, people complain, because Sigil is quickly heading the way of a social server. Social servers are pretty boring.

Pretty much all I've seen is, "Yes. Women get special treatment. People completely ignore the fact that they should have a bias against said character realistically, because they want to get their dicks wet. But men. We're going to think of every reason, lore or otherwise, to hate them."

I don't actually seem to have the same issues you all do, getting RP as men. I simply find that when someone hates me for serving a demon or the likes, but then turns around to go *** one... It is incredibly bad RP, and incredibly immersion breaking. Also, unlike the majority of people I see, I'm not trying to get my dick wet. I'm trying to enjoy a story.
I mean, over the almost 10 years I've RPed, people have legitly only complained about it for the reason I mentioned.

I don't think it's at all a social server and you people are literally just blowing something stupid out of proportion.

Because as it stands now, the male characters I've seen, aside from a few exceptions (even if it's positive in regards to the good ones I've seen I'm not gonna name drop lmao)- are boring. The female characters I've seen are more interesting.

Literally all I've seen thus far in terms of male chars- WELL. Not all of them are boring, but there's been male chars who, instead of getting involved in the RP, just stand there awkwardly and creepily- or when they actually do join it's like RPing with a cardboard cutout.

Maybe the people who are complaining about male characters being treated poorly should, y'know... Make better male characters?
