Just a clarification since I've managed to cause some confusion with my previous message. We are getting DDoS'ed, the said post was for that one day. Issues like that don't really work on a schedule and all unlike the, now daily, arbitrary coffee breaks we've been blessed with. :P

It's much easier to perform DDoS attacks than it is to protect from them, unfortunately. I think it's part of the reason also why there's such a high demand for stricter internet protocols by governments, something to keep in mind when considering the internet freedom issues next time too. There's a reason why we're trying not to be an interesting target. Somethings can be done, but they are time consuming and require heavy technical understanding or they are very expensive.

On the bright side, the server is was up again for a while.

Change the server ip and install a fake server with the previous IP.

Or close the server entirely. There wont be much people left... after another two months of this.

I'd say it may be worth looking into any recent bans. Otherwise i'd say it is some old, grudgy person who thinks they can get a reaction out of a old community.

Food for thought; The more they know it's making people angry, they more they'll do it. My advice is to simply let it quietly pass when it happens. Much like internet forum trolls, when they get no reactions no matter what they say or do, they move onto easier targets.
