But Altair, what of their pride and playing to their nature?

Certainly if nymphs had their permanent blindness and stunning aura effects, the argument can be made that in lore this is simply their nature, often inflicted unawares. Now just because that would inconvenience the entire server, well... sacrifices have to be made for good role play =)
If nymphs had their permanent blind/stun auras, they'd cause such a massive disruption that the Lady would intervene and boot them out of Sigil, I feel. Otherwise entire wards would shut down en masse.

Just my two cents.

And the caption for Nymph specifically reads that they have full conscious control over their blindless lol. They can turn it on and off at will.

But that's enough for this conversation. The point was to remind people that there was an official ruling on the greater than large characters. That's it. Please close.

It sounds to me like you just don't like good role play

Just because you str is reduced doesn't mean it's a harmful effect. Stop arguing stupid semantics.
We are here at decisive disagreement. We can argue, if involuntarily reduced size may or may not be viewed as at least insult, but reduced stat = harm without option, and it is thou who should stop arguing semantics as well as attempts to give out desirable for valid.

Food for thought. :)

...Or are you PVPing yourself? :o If so, that's self-harm, and I'm pretty sure we have a help line for that.
Apologies, Wolf-man, didn't get thou meant casting on self. Casting size changes on others however is at least contraversial and one should in my completely nay humble opinion refrain from doing so just in case.

I've spoken about the increase in dragons' level adjusment - going a bit off topic - not to discourage to select races with that size, but because mantaining a LA +3 for a race that's having all those privileges would keep a technical imbalance in the server, which I doubt would be in favor of staff and players altogether.
All races are in a current rebalance stage.

With that said. all races are also not ment to be equal to each other, intentional or not.
The actual dragon prc is kinda middle of the pack of what we have available for 3 ecl + prc now.
Its the size of being in the market place thats getting to folks when you cant click around them.

This happens in nwn1 where it took years of players asking for their dragons on action server to be reduced in size because entire party could not click around them.

Firstly, Bilder team repeatedly had announced, that their aim is to remake all the races to have nay more, than LA +3.

Secondly, Dragons as o now power-wise are quite well balanced.

Thirdly, ever tried to play nymph? Ridiculous saves, immunities, AC and AB and all on single character, if one goes for using up their strenghts. If there is balancing to be done, then those are first on que IMHO.

------------------------------

As for dragons, seriously, people, why just nay to restrain from visiting Bazaar in dragon form? Or if one is there in dragon form and is ACTUALLY blocking someone's activities (instead of sitting in the waste trench or any other place, where one normally would nay go), then send a FRIENDLY /tell ("friendly" means one should nay sound like rule-nazi). And nay issues.

I am nay saying they get it from CHA. I am saying, it is possible to build nymph with equally crazy AC and AB.

Um, no. Have you actually played one?

Their armor bonus is deflection, which means it doesn't stack, so if you have a 32 charisma add -5 to your bonus.

The saving throw bonus also counts on the item/magic saving throw cap. So you think it's insane, but then you find out many classes and items leave very little room or none at all for the bonus. Spells and items hit the save cap easily without unearthly grace. Class features stack on top of the magic cap, the race feature doesn't.

Their stats are all mental stats except for dexterity. So no they get no attack bonus let alone insane attack bonus, they are made to be casters primarily. Except you have to make the choice to advance charisma or advance your primary casting ability if it isn't cha.

Okay now choose any type of character. Do you want -4 str or -4 cha? Obviously it's easier for everyone to live without cha than live without str. That makes the high str characters extremely powerful. Again nymph has no str at all. How about -4 wis or -4 con? Yes, it's easier for most characters to live without mental ability points.

There is an ECL 2 race called Orog, with +6 str, and +2 cha, it makes a much better choice for your epic divine might builds and can get more power than what a nymph does. Lets say Orog half dragon, +14 str, +2 con, +4 cha, +3 AC and still 1 extra level. Give them blackguard and they have better saves too.

Now instead as nymph you lose 6 levels, all you really have are mental abilities and unearthly grace, you don't even get spell resistance like many other races.

So no, nymph is not overpowered except if you ignore everything else, and certainly not more than high physical ability races.
