That isn't to say that it's a bad idea, I think lotterys and stall-events are a grand idea. I think for many, it's something done when one hahs a schedule free of RP. ICly, they're a planeswalker who happens to open a stall now and then to offload stuff and make a bit of jink. Because, let's face it. Selling goods is pretty much the only way to make money on the server.
I'm fairly certain that most folks feel this way. I mean, you don't create a character in D&D in order to be a merchant. (*cough*We have NPCs for a reason.*cough*) As such, why not cut through all the extra stuff that makes the process tedious? That's why I like the suggestion of KEMO's Auction Board mod.
Oh, I quite like the RP that comes with it. On a similar note I've made barmaid PCs in the past who quite literally had done simply that. Okay, they were more than that when you take into account why they were doing it, but. It's the principle of the matter.

Today Odette gave away a beholder crown to an amusing Gnome, and he came back three times to interact and show her what he'd found, what magic spells he'd learnt etc. I don't think they would have even gotten the opportunity to interact were it not for that fact and the gnome stating he had only 957 jink.

In fact, I'd make a PC purely for merchant reasons were it viable, removing my main PC from a role they're not all that interested in. But, it isn't. Since gear isn't transferable, nor jink. Having a merchantman PC is a dead practice because they've little to do with that money. Not that I think this needs to change, necessarily, I'm just babbling in the wee hours of the morning. :P

I highly recommend using the IX Summon instead. It will murder things. A lot. :D

I use both, prepare Gate and Summon Monster IX spells but I don't think the IX can handle much more than the Abyss either for me.

I also use astral constuct and it has been squishy thru the entire leveling process. A summoned skeleton, an erinyes, or a horned devil can chop it down in a round, and vrock less time. In pnp it's one of the most powerful companions, but I notice a lot of summons were improved from pnp versions, meanwhile the construct seems to be more or less the same effectively. But missing the options to do things like give elemental immunity or +8 ac or dr. Take it to the plane of ice and it dies to frost giants too, or to the cold eventually lol

I'm not sure what summoners have to do with loot tho!

I'll try to put to gather a thread as to when/were/what may set up her stall, or do a auction. That may help some, but idk, hope fully it'll help.

I don't think summons alone are enough for abyss (or above). Considering how strong they are prior to that (get that summon 7 and it's like a few levels in a few moments) I think it's not unreasonable.

You need a semi-permanent companion for later stages. Druid - probably the easiest choice (0 gear requirement if you play it right). Golem crafter - takes a bit more resources (time). And there's plenty of henchmen from classes too (I've seen - not tried - a lot of palemaster builds).

And better yet, you can join them too (well, the druid/cleric with others).

What's your build that summons are the only thing you've got in epic levels?

Tbh, I it's not that hard to solo unless you specifically went for a party build (then stick to a party). Although not everything will solo well, that's a given.

Edit: Ok, that might've sounded a bit crass. My point is, there are some builds that are very easy to level with even if solo. In fact... some of my toons can run locations like Clangor alone without a problem but do worse in a group due to running out of resources or having to face too many mobs at a time. And then there are builds that are nearly impossible to solo and that is by design. For the latter I tend to grind (yes... sadly) at a significantly easier location in order to get some jink and then buy that enabling item or two.
