You know what sucks? Having to be told by a DM that I need to find some way to allow your BS evil characters in an event where literally everyone hates your characters, and then get tells from all of those players asking why the (flip) I'm making you a part of the group.

You know what's Lore Breaking? A Seelie Fey having to abide evil aberrations (which Mindflayers are) because of DM fiat just so that you two can be included in an event in what is a really, really inappropriate way to be a part of a storyline.

You two are the problem, even if you don't want to admit it. The staff, the players, and everyone else but you two are in agreement.

It's run it's course. Thanks, everyone, for the input.

I understand the point of the post entirely, you have just been shitting on basically everyone on the server for not catering to your desire to be Evil with a capital mustache-twirling knife-in-the-back. I see people playing that kind of thing constantly throughout the many years I've played here, this is one of the least Good-favoritism defined servers in NWN2. The fact of the matter is, your attitude is driving people away. Happily putting an insult towards a good chunk of the player-base in your signature is a pretty good indication of that.

pfft, ask an EM to do it yo >_>, I was ..part of a Group that was going to Rob a Great Caliph, we even plot out things, but sadly it is sort of in a stand still atm due to rl conflicting schedule, so it's all about getting the right EM!

Very unlikely I will log on my flayer. You may roll mindflayer yourself and try doing that :)
But reports will be coming along when a good player will fail to stop you.

As I said, if it got denied, you may wish to revise it. IMO, the reason such an attempt might get denied is because it was directed at the Bazaar, which is being treated as a sort of 'rest zone'. Maybe even just changing the location you intended to send the goblins, to the Clerk's Ward (or better, the Lady's Ward where all the big moneybags live), would receive a more positive response from Staff. I don't speak on their behalf in any way shape or form, but I know for a fact, running events which involve combat in populated areas can be tricky, for mechanical reason or for the simple fact the Bazaar is kind of the RP hub. If you want to find RP, that's the place to go, if you want to find combat, you go to other places.

As I said, simply get your group of buddies, find a willing EM / DM, and most of these problems brought up can be solved.

The OOC problems such as PvP accusations and such are really, IMO, best kept off the forums as such is basically akin to airing dirty laundry. Nobody trawls the forums looking for posts about who sent what PMs to who about rule breaking, we check here for lore answers, build ideas, bug and suggestion reports. At least I do, I'm sure many of the players feel the same way as well.

I'm done with this thread (not in a frustrated manner, mind you), I simply feel I've input everything I think needs to be said.

Adieu.

This is the only post I am going to make on this topic.

You want to know the reason why a lot of characters are treated like Disney Villains? Because they act like it. I've touched on this very topic numerous times in the past, and have expressed my distaste for the fact that covert evil is implied as being 'not evil enough'. I get that you want to play an evil character. I get that you don't give a flying flip who knows it. What you have to understand is, people are going to be reactive to it. Especially when the sole intention in being abrasive is to find some loose 'roleplay' thread to justify PvP.

Now, I don't know how much you actually know or understand about D&D lore, or about how fiends like succubi work, but since it's been mentioned... succubi are infiltrators by nature. They are covert, they are devious, underhanded and completely and uttering reliant on their charms. Maybe you should be questioning those whom consort with fiends, and not the fiends themselves. Now, there's a saying that applies to this - "You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar". For a creature that is physically weak, like the succubus, one needs to be mindful of confrontation. It's not even so much about fulfilling desire as it is planting the seed. There's a very good passage in the Ecology of Succubus and Erinyes in the in-game book taken from mimir.net. Let me see if I can find it.
Ecology of Succubus and Erinyes I wrote:... The succubus carefully chooses her role to be one that can plausibly arrive in the community, and will have a relatively high profile once she establishes herself.

At once, the succubus' corrupting power begins to assert itself. During the first stage, very little overt change will be observed in the community. However, within the minds of the people, the succubus is having an effect. The major effect of the succubus' presence is a lowering of inhibitions with regard to sex and lust. Slowly, the populace begins to shrug off its ingrained social mores. In a very strict society, this may even be a good thing for a while, as excessive restrictions are relaxed. However, as the succubus continues to live within the community, this change becomes dangerous. At first, the lowering of inhibitions is only in regards to the succubus herself. Males and females to whom the succubus is unavailable begin to desire her. The succubus' attractive force works on all beings, gender and sexual orientation notwithstanding. At this stage, the succubus may be approached by people to whom she is culturally available. The succubus welcomes such attentions, and deliberately holds her soul draining powers in check, to avoid destroying those she trysts with.

In the second stage, the community begins to change outwardly. The first signs are the competition between everyone to win the succubus' attention. Fights and jealousies break out between those who are affected. Those who others view as being more in favour are set upon, and often physically attacked. The second noticeable affect is that the decreasing of inhibitions extends to all people. People feel less and less social pressure to restrict themselves in their romantic pursuits. Often, relationships spring up between those who are fighting for the attention of the succubus, and find themselves among the losers. In addition, the lessening of inhibitions spreads to those who may never have even seen the succubus. In this manner, large cities can be corrupted, even though the succubus is only active in a small neighbourhood.

As the succubus' influence spreads, it can corrupt whole countries, even worlds. The people become less and less concerned with others, and more and more intent on fulfilling their own desires. Often, by the time powerful figures recognise something is wrong, the succubus' influence has spread too far to pinpoint the centre of the danger, and unable to find the fiend to exorcise her. Stopping a succubus usually depends on some lucky individual discovering her true nature early, and either stopping her, or reporting her. Even then, if authorities have been corrupted as well, reporting can be useless, if not dangerous to the reporter.
Now, my next point is that playing evil is not always about corruption, but also longevity. This is something that many seem to forget when playing villains and is not limited solely to fiends. Longevity. You want to go in guns blazing, you're sure as shit going to get noticed for it. You're going to draw attention to yourself, and it's going to be the wrong sort of attention. Now, if you want to be hunted that's all well and good. But you can't complain about being excluded when your character has made his intentions very clear. Evil is not an excuse to be an ass. There's a difference between playing 'evil' and being an inconsiderate '***'. There is a difference between playing 'chaotic' and playing 'stupid'. If people are reporting you, it's likely for a reason that has very little to do with alignment.

Evil events happen. In fact, I believe the Sensate Rakshaka... uh, her name eludes me at the moment... but she took the initiative to organise her own darker delve into the depravity of the Society of Sensation. Not everyone approved of it ICly either. It caused quite the uproar. But the character has been laying low, taking the forms of others etc... not trouncing around in public, shoving people and drawing attention to themselves which might very well result in them being pushed through a portal and deadbooked. Take the initiative. Post about rituals, contact an EM or a DM for plot beyond "There's a bunch of goodies here, I'mma blow them up". It doesn't have to be about Good vs. Evil... it can be about evil furthering evil.

Remember, Sigil is neutral. Like it, don't like it. The city itself is considered to be a middle ground for good and evil. You don't have to be chummy with the goodies, or the baddies. You don't have to respect it. But you do have to abide by it. Playing an unfriendly character is all well and good when there's roleplay to support it... but, if you're going to play an ***, if you're going to force confrontation, break laws (and server rules), attempt to enslave unwilling PCs etc, there are going to be IC and OOC repercussions. The real question is, are you willing to face the consequences of your actions?

It probably got denied because, as was mentioned, it was the Market. Doing something like that on the market forces everyone present to become a part of your RP and your plot. Having creatures raving about forces them to react or depart. We tend to look down on things that force others to drop what they're doing to cater to some other player.

Maybe more planning would suffice to convince a DM/EM to help you out. Most have no interest in mindless creature spawning that brings little to no gain to either the people doing the unleashing or the people having to drop everything to react.

At first, I remember such things happening on the Bazaar before.
Also, it was exactly about 'story' rather than market. Are we back th the thing 'avoid telling that I dont like and pretend it being just being bad wrong in terms of rules'? It is not related to your message,
Darkrob and more likely to that EM response.

Actually EMS are required to announce publicly if something happens to the Bazaar so players can opt out of the rp/plot . You plot against the market thats exactly what your doing is either you have choose to be apart of the rp or leave.
