@Ed: That is exactly the kind of points I'm trying to make. ERP, is just a sub category of said problem.
Obviously, I am not saying, we should be reading their RP. But public RP out in the open. Killing a Celestial body. Those are some pretty obvious issues.
So Many Women.

Yer nah wrong bout tha Perin... but ah think most folks take tha 'grinding' part ah tha server ta mostly be OOC?
My main character es evil an jus short ah bein ah psychopath... so ets nah ah bother ta her ta go find ah random prime an jus start murderin wha ever creature calls tha plane home an takin their stuff.
But.. yeh... ets sorta weird at times ta be huntin alongside folks tha consider their characters ta be 'goodly'. Especially in some ah tha places like Mercuria an other 'good' places. Even in places where tha creatures are questionably evil..ish.. ah'm nah sure 'goodly' folks would jus pop inta their houses an start wholesale slaughterin em an still be..uh.. goodly. >.>
Jus figure ets OOC most ah tha time.

You keep talking about "Lore" but you obviously know little about how things work in Sigil. You keep refering to paladins becoming fallen because of stuff they do in Sigil but i think you need to understand that what happens in Sigil tends to stay in Sigil, the gods have very little direct interaction with their followers in Sigil and most people who live in sigil wont care who a paladin is shagging be it demon devil or whatever.DarkPerin,Jan 17 2017 wrote: The first goal, is to get people to admit there is actually an issue about it. The second would be to figure out together, how it might be solved. Because people taking a closer look at their own RP, would be far more helpful than the DMs doing such. Generally if I am on a server that makes it clear they aim to have lore taken seriously, there is rarely ever even an issue to begin with. Punishment may not always be the best option either. Sometimes rewarding those that do well is enough. There are plenty of possibilities.
Your debating on the assumption Sigil is black and white in terms of that is "acceptable" for any given character but its not, Sigil is grey grey grey grey.
Plus...and this always gets me but unless the paladin has taken a specifc vow, no where does it say paladins have to be chaste or celebate...
In fact, if you ask me, a paladin entering into romantic affairs with evil beings regardless of race is a perfectly acceptable way to try and get under their skin and help turn them around.
Some people agree with you but if the imput recieved on this kind of topic over the years has indicated anything it would that most people are not bothered by such...strange circumstances.
I don't mean to come across as harsh sounding but, sorry other peoples rp doesn't fit your standards.
Sigils staff has never pointed a dictatorish control thumb on peoples RP, it goes against the spirit and nature of the server, and if they ever took a firm hand like your asking them to then THAT would cause Sigil to spiral down hill.
Ask yourself this, how would YOU feel if a dm hovered over your EVERY emote and every word and every number on your character sheet and if you even stay a tiny bit from your alignment or class or race or what ever, they penalize you for it?.
Think on that and don't say you would be ok with it because no player would, it just doesnt happen.

@Wizards: Honestly, you continue to be quite rude. First you told me that I was making assumptions, when that is all that you do.
Now you're telling me that I don't know lore. The Gods may not step into Sigil, but they are still aware of what their followers are doing within. They pay particularly close attention to their clerics, and their paladins. Paladins having the strictest code. I don't think I ever once mentioned a Paladin needed to remain chaste. But a Paladin MUST ALWAYS, uphold their deities Dogma. If they do not, they will not receive their spells. And if the gods were cut off from Sigil entirely, no one would receive their spells.
So here is some forgotten realms lore for you. Yondalla, also known as Chauntea is the goddess of LIFE. You know what she REALLY doesn't like? Necromancy. You know what doesn't matter in this situation? Your vows, or lack of. And you know what will make a paladin fall? Consorting with evil. Perhaps you need to brush up on YOUR lore before you want to call me out. Try the book of Vile Darkness, and something called the Evil acts, which ARE relevant for anyone from Faerun, in Sigil or not.
In particular, consorting with any Fiend, is an incredible, NO.
Even so much as lying is against the rules for a paladin.
Creating any sort of undead, even if you mean to do good with them, is considered, evil.
But please. Do try harder.
As for the DM watching over every little thing you do. You'll actually find that I said that probably wasn't the best case scenario if you actually bothered to read the posts. Where I then gave several other options, and also said, perhaps the community could suggest an idea.

No, that is exactly what you mean to do when you say something like this.
"You keep talking about "Lore" but you obviously know little about how things work in Sigil. "
But you're right. Having sex, isn't an evil act. That is why I never said it was. Bravo. -clap-

Example, Character A, is a paladin. Says they are good. Talks about how all evil should be eradicated. Proceeds to *** an evil devil. Because they totally wouldn't be counted as being fallen now. No one even questions it.
Another example. A Paladin of Yondalla. Open consorts and is good friends with a Necromancer.
@Jelika: The above example did actually occur in character, right in front of me. More surprising, is some of these individuals were willing to be friend with my character as well. And anyone that knows my character, knows he doesn't exactly scream friendly. He more or less openly wears his evil.
@Ravenous: True. I do not have to watch it. Quite often, it finds a way into my roleplay, however. Generally taking me straight out of my immersion. Rather than ruin the flow of RP there, I brought it up here. I do not see nudging people in the right direction, a crime at all. I don't want RP policed, and people not to tell others they cannot do something, but if a DM, or the likes sees people doing these things, it would be nice if perhaps they started giving alignment tics. Or if such was brought up to a person, that they might actually listen to a suggestion. I've brought these things up in character, and people usually just ignore it. I've been roleplaying on NWN for at least fifteen years, servers where ERP was allowed, but not social servers, and servers that banned it. Regardless of what they were, this is the server with the least amount of care to the lore I've ever seen. On social servers compare. Even Baldur's Gate, will make sure you take the consequence of an evil action, especially if you are a paladin.
Thank you Raven, for your constructive opinion, even if you did not agree.

@Edmaster: I see stuff like this happen All the time. Not just concerning ERP, but mostly concerning ERP. This is was meant to be the main focus of this thread. And yeah. I may be throwing a lot of people in together, but I've mostly noticed it from the female roleplayers, and specifically those sitting around in the Bazaar.edmaster44,Jan 17 2017 wrote: Well if some paladin fucks a demon for err gods know why. then that's just bad RP, and etc.
I can't be certain about all of them, but the supposed, "Good" Angels that are still serving some celestial body, or Paladins, are things I can be pretty certain about.

Just so I understand. You want DMs to keep tabs on who people are ERPing and give them consequences based on it, while simultaneously you don't want to encourage ERP only spend more time at it? :P Or only suggesting it?
