Just A Funny Thought...

Off-topic: We actually do need more Baatezu who actually RP like Devils, not like "I'm evil, but I just chose this because Brachina looks sexy and I want to do a Neutral Evil Bard-based build". Btw, that issue is the same with Succubi as well. Too many people don't try to play their Devils or Demons as evil. If your devil or demon is going around being a hero (saving people, doing good, killing your own kind without repercussions, helping other PCs resolve their "good"-aligned events), you either A) better be trying to "redeem" your PC and become some other than a demon in time OR B) you're doing it wrong. We need more people who actually play evil fiends as evil fiends. Be an evil jackass, please!Theodoreick,Jul 22 2016 wrote: Have you considered roleplaying a baatezu? :D
On-topic: I now see Theodoreick as a radioactive mouse superhero. (I think he changed his avatar.) Which is a funny concept to me. The whole mouse deal conflicts a bit with the goblin and Half-Drow PCs I know he has mentioned, LOL.

I might start playing my Erinye more often. She's an A-hole for a pure pleasure of being an a-hole.
Though I'm not adverse to an idea of a Baatezu redeeming themselves. It's just that RP for this kind of character at some point in the future probably would end in rerolling them into Aasimon when they redeem themselves.

I'm inclined to disagree with you Morthos, as honey attracts more flies than vinegar. Just becauase a fiend (or evil axis character) isn't 'Disney Evil: Mwahaha' doesn't mean their actions aren't for their own means/a power grab/amounting to something; especially if we're talking about subterfuge/infiltration. Just because they're not sucking souls and signing contracts in the middle of the bazaar, doesn't mean they're not coaxing bashers into an alley of the Hive. Jackasses don't tend to survive long in Sigil, evil or not. Additionally, fiends will kill their own kind to get ahead.rapsam2003,Jul 22 2016 wrote:Off-topic: We actually do need more Baatezu who actually RP like Devils, not like "I'm evil, but I just chose this because Brachina looks sexy and I want to do a Neutral Evil Bard-based build". Interesting topic though, I do agree that there needs to be some balance. It's always nice to see the different play-styles of evil races, and I too enjoy seeing them come to light. I'm happy to discuss in another thread or over PMs so this thread doesn't get derailed. (Again)

He's my favourite comic book super hero. His special power is to project kinetic lines when he strikes a pose.rapsam2003,Jul 22 2016 wrote:On-topic: I now see Theodoreick as a radioactive mouse superhero. (I think he changed his avatar.) Just to stay off-topic, I also ditched the half-drow for now because I thought her character concept would not fit too well in Planescape and because mechanically she was going to be a clone of my genasi.
The goblin is a bit on-hold too, but how does a little goblin conflict with a radioactive mouse? I find they are both comically amusing and pretty ironical in their concepts as well as in their popularity with ladies, i.e. none. :D
But we'll see, I have still to finalize which characters I want to play... if I resurrect the ideas it will be also thanks to you. ;)
As for fiends, yeah, it would really deserve an interesting thread on its own. I have an erinyes and I was a bit disappointed to see how few people play a devil, while the bazaar literally swarms with succubi. And on top of that, to my erinyes' dismay, 99% of people mistake her for a celestial! Anyway, yesterday I met in Undersigil a male brachina (brachino?) so perhaps I have just had bad luck so far.
The mention of the baatezu was in any case referring to the "fine print" in whitefly's signature. :P The whole big writing about Moxie really caught all my attention, and the little that was left was taken by the mention of Prof. Tail. Yeah, pretty cunning signature if the intention was to distract people from that little title.
edit: My avatar meets a devil
