This makes me think of House and Wilson from "House."

I would certainly lump Wilson in the Lawful Good category, and House into the...Chaotic Neutral, sometimes tending toward Chaotic Evil or Chaotic Good, depending on his mood. But they're still best friends.

That has nothing to do with alignment, Fell. Wilson's an enabler.

They make baby eating look like a game of miniature golf.

(Kidding.)

As to evil: it's Sigil. So long as you don't get caught "disturbing the peace" or piss off the Harmonium/Mercykillers/Guvners/Fated, you can do what you want.

I think a good example of intelligent Chaotic Evil would be Heath Ledger's The Joker. Hyper-intelligent, even, he was of at least genius level.

Also... Many of the aforementioned Red Wizards top leadership are Chaotic Evil. Chaotic Evil does not mean Chaotic Stupid unless we are talking about a troll or an orc(of average intelligence for their races). Chaotic simply means that they are more likely to give in to the sudden impulse of blowing you to bits and screw the consequences, well every now and then at least. There are no rules to Chaos, chaos does what chaos wants.

If you look at the factions, and their imposed membership requirements, you might spot how some factions can be divided into the lawful and non-lawful lot. Thus, for most planars, the primary source of conflict rises from the Lawful - Chaotic axis rather than from the Good - Evil axis.

A lawful good Paladin and a lawful evil Blackguard can stand buddy-buddy, presuming they share the same goal, as members of the same faction.

As for Fiends all being evil, the Deva all good - let me tell you a thing clueless, everyone can turn stag. While most do not, those who do better start running fast.
- A hiver to a Clueless.
