Eh. it make sense if AT did get eldrtich master. Because. the prc here was changed to allow warlocks use of the class. Though you might want it for arcane archer too.

So, I just want to know. Why the best build ever is Cleric? I wanted a melee build and someone said go 10 Cleric 10 Wizard 10 Mystic Theurge. @_@ Is there a way to do without?

Without a Cleric? Perhaps, but still, builds with Cleric always better than builds without him.

You can actually go Sorc 6/Asoc10/Cleric4/Theurge10 with Auto Still 0-9 and EDM.

This will allow you to use Divine Might, or whatever to wreck things in PvE, as well, as to use quickened Breach and Bigby in PvP. I know, what I am talking about.

Non-Cleric variant is:

Druid/Sorc/Theurge/ASoC

In PvE you just thrash everything around being in a Wild Shape with a ton of AC, 60+ AB, and having around 600hp, Regeneration, Displacement and Mirror Image, with a Premonition atop of it. Painbringer? Meh, its like to beat a child.

Assume a Wild Shape (Spider), buff yourself with a Storm Avatar. In PvP you are not a subject to Bigby now, unless enemy will use Mord's. If he does - you use quickened Breach and Bigby in that round.

My best build for SCOD is not a cleric(tho Deliang is pretty good) but druid. Close to Shadowcryer combo: 10 druid 10 mt 2 wiz 8 red wiz abj based, even after NA nerf he is good case of tenser. You can make very strong bard also, warlock if you wanna blast things, wierd combos on arcane casters and psion. They all are good.

I never builded a wiz/druid/theurge. Such offering came because I saw your one.
The idea of Deliang that he can crit for 150 with a single ranged attack per round, having 6 of them and haste. A cleric :)

Bard can be simply countered with Energy Immunity (Sound)
Warlock is countered by Blind Sight/True Seeing
Psion? Well, I do not know much of them.

The short answer is: clerics have turning, which gateways to epic divine might...divine power, which gives them a large BAB bump...domains, which can give you two free feats or access to evasion or access to the haste/premonition spells...a suite of persistable attack bonus buffers that stack (bless/aid/prayer/divine favor)...regeneration...access to energy immunity...can wear heavy armor and use shields...has D8 hp...and has wisdom as their casting stat, which with Zen Archery can also be their attack bonus stat for ranged weapons...

No other single class boasts this list of perks. Some have good BAB, some have great persistable spells, some have free feats, some can use heavy armor and shields without suffering spell failure, some have dual-utility from their attack bonus stat...but no one class does it all like a cleric can.

The long answer is found in the plethora of very strong cleric-based builds on nwn2 database.

Warlock 10, Assassin 10, arcane trickster 10. Can also sub succubus in here and alter to warlock 1, succubus 10, 8 assassin, 8 trickster.
Pre-hips invis for the first strike (or three)
Hips for after the first hits.
Take the three shadowhand feats for another instant invis, plus non-invis breaking teleport. (It does break stealth, just not invis).
Hideous blow, trickster sneak attack, assassin death attack. It literally won't matter which weapon you want to use. You'll net 4d6 DA, 4d6 SA, plus whatever you can pull off with hideous blow.

Disclaimer: This build is a snowball. It SUCKS at early levels if you're soloing. It may also have to wait to see if Death Attack is tweaked to work better with spells.

PvP you'll probably want some arcane in there because of the many ways to kill a single opponent. PvM you can ditch it because cleric's going to be better in the long run.

1. No spell failure, so no need to waste epic feats on auto-still.
2. Not squishy. Medium BAB and better hit dice make them safely playable 1-30.
3. Divine power for full fighter BAB without any drawbacks.
4. Divine Might and Epic Divine Might for big damage bonuses if you're willing to pump Charisma.
5. Free feats that you get at first level of the class.
6. The ability to grab some decent arcane spells through domains (Persistent Haste or Freedom of Movement, Stoneskin, Premonition, Spell Mantle, etc.)
7. The best overall selection of defensive spells
8. Instant big-damage effects against undead, and also outsiders through a feat or domain power
9. Stormlord PrC (and in our case, Fist of Raziel for similar but lesser effects) for great combat
10. Sacred Fist stacks most abilities with monk
11. Automatic proficiency in heavy armor and shields

So yeah, clerics rock.

Really, the main thing is that with clerics, even a poorly built one will be viable (unless you do something idiotic like levels in Warpriest or Harper Agent). No need to choose spells, you get them all, and no real feature you can't live without.
