Good isn't as dangerous as evil by far. x) Evil is indiscriminate, good is definitely way more selective.

If you have to look along the shaft of an arrow from the wrong end, if a man has you entirely at his mercy, then hope like hell that man is an evil man. Because the evil like power, power over people, and they want to see you in fear. They want you to know you're going to die. So they'll talk. They'll gloat. They'll watch you squirm. They'll put off the moment of murder like another man will put off a good cigar. So hope like hell your captor is an evil man. A good man will kill you with hardly a word.

Discworld is not a D&D material.
And actual D&D sources paint different pictures how Good alignments are supposed to work.

And that's a one example and hardly a baseline.
D&D =/= edgy Warhammer.

It's just the usual: Evil doesn't add as much constraints, thus it can't be that bad. Excluding the whole fact that they just murder, rape, torture, and so forth... that's just freedom of choice! Hooray! Not.
Good tends to have standards, but somehow that's starting to become synonymous with bastard or something. I don't claim to understand why people assume evil isn't just... I don't know, evil? :P

When it comes down to killing time, good is more dangerous because it's not selfish. Rare is the evil character who is willing to damn themselves for others. The Gray Guards do what they do and remain lawful good because it's necessary. Their own gods approve of it and still lend them power.

I'm sure you can also cope with contradicting canon sources and realisation that D&D will never really live up to grimedgy fantasies. ;]Mander,Oct 17 2016 wrote: It's canon so you can cope I'm sure.
And evil means also killing and harming for the pettiest reasons and rarely looking for avoiding violence if there's no punishment expected, so no point in idealising it and making it any more noble or deep than it is.
