This exact thing happened to me. Less people means it's way easier to be noticed.

Faction activity or lack there of only really matters depending on what you actually want.

The sensates, Signers and godsmen have active members right now. Though I am uncertain how many.

I don't want to put words in your mouth, but if you are like me you are looking for depth to your roleplay. There are a few player partnerships and alliances of sorts. For active guilds I see a lot of godsman around and they have some forum RP going. Cherry has her own thing going too with the Sensates.

I have been looking myself for indepth guild RP since I joined the forum without much luck. A few players who I've interacted with would make good partners for ongoing indepth roleplay but it just hasn't worked out as of yet for various reasons. I'm fairly particular myself as I don't want to become obligated only to find my character to be mostly window dressing or some PC/NPC henchmen. I guess as a loose rule, if my characters rp is mostly social or fluffish, I usually lose interest. So you probably will have a bit of an easier time finding the type of guild roleplay you are looking for then I.

What people often forget is you CAN create your own Faction activity. I basically did ALL of the work to make Morthos well-known as an Athar. You don't need to rely on others to create your RP. It's your character. Take control of your character's growth. You will never enjoy it if you rely (mostly) on others to move your RP forward.

Now, of course, try to include others. I have a mini-plot going with Morthos and the Winter Fey (Winter Fey RP Story Thread) right now. I have used PMs to invite several others and spoken to their characters IC. If they can join at the time that the DM running the event can do it, great. Otherwise, I still run the event with the DM. That's just a recent example.
Sidenote: It is known publicly (see the Chant and the Dark) that Morthos was hunted by the Winter Fey recently, so there's an IC way to join up if you want to. The more, the merrier.

I mean, we all have real life things happening, and this is a game. People get busy. /shrug

Point is, don't EXclude people, but don't sit around going, "There's no one to RP with". Create the RP opportunities for yourself!

Send me a PM. The player guilds (not to be confused with Factions) are often doing things they don't want non-members to see/know (avoids metagaming), and we don't have Sigil subforums for guild only members (as that would be rather exclusive). But send me a PM and I can tell you about the rather active (evil) guild I and a few others are in.
Same goes for anyone else wanting to join a group of friends interested in some evil RP. We're willing to include anyone and everyone.
