I'm a new player and was putting together a character and wanted to ask about crafting. I read through the guide but wasn't completely clear on whether the feats craft magical arms and armor and craft wondrous item are required to make magical equipment. It says the feat required are listed in the recipes, but the recipes listed have no column for the feat.

The feats should explain that themselves.
"Arms and armor" does... weapons and armor, and shields.
"Wondrous items" takes care of everything else. Rings, bracers/gloves, boots, cloak, helmet, belt.

If that was what you were asking?

Whether they are required to make magic items in game. I know what they are for. I know that they are required in the normal campaign, but wanted to be sure before I solidified my character concept.

Oh, yeah. You need those feats.
But you don't need any specific spells (like you do in the campaign, if I remember?).
You just purchase the recipe, and use it on the item instead of casting a spell.

Though, you do need the ingredients listed in the list.

It is also worth to note how Warlocks have only access to the Craft Arms, Armor and Wondrous Items. So in order to have access to Brew Potion and Craft Wand feats you need to multiclass in order to qualify. However, the fact remains that one level of either Bard, Sorcerer, or Wizard is enough with the Practised Spell Caster feat focusing on one of the previosuly mentioned classess, to meet the caster level requirements.
