Except ..we are not playing with npc base. Just the pcs that be interested in this sort of thing. Otherwise they be no point for said pcs to be involved. It been simple matter of letting them fight it off. And yes ..somewhere along the line it was hinted the Doomguard would helped take over/destroy Krynn. Course my character is not going talk to them!

After having skimmed through Factols Manifesto, In the Cage - Guide to Sigil and Planewalkers Handbook, I didn't find any references of the comparative (man)power of the Doomguard. Which leads me to a conclusion that in the absence of clear remark to way or another, they're likely "average" in Faction scales. Which is nothing to be ashamed of. Could be wrong, but I don't feel like spending another few hours to look through everything in detail.
Anyway, Neethaniel was quite accurate about it. The fey event is an ongoing longterm plot so it'll have waves of curiosity rather than active attention. Most will find that this is the second time it has been called up, and all non-special events have involved public openly with shouts. The point really is, as an event it's not a goal orientated one where you braintank a solution for it all, it's a milestone one where you braintank solutions for small parts of the whole. Then probably get unmotivated eventually after realizing that there were no quick solutions to the major event itself.
Also does the public need to know full story? All they really need is sufficient amount of knowledge to be able to inquire for additional information. When they know they should know more about something, that's a good starting point.

It's all well and good that we've debated this point for four pages worth of forum text.
Could we hear some of the actual DM opinions of those running this plot on how they think it is progressing?
I'm personally very interested in these few points.
A) Is it too much work to put articles into the SIGIS so that all players have an EVEN FOOTING for gaining THE SAME information regarding the plot line. If you leave it to word and mouth, you will only get a certain amount of players interested, ala, the 20 players that went to Krynn? (And I can almost guarentee, some of those characters were just in the right place at the right time to get an event, and had little to no prior knowledge of what was going on.)
B) The 10,000 souls the Raven Queen wants is a rather small amount in the grand scheme of things. Is this arbitrary number common knowledge to the Factions? Soul prisms for 1000 jink each would mean you could 'pay off' the Raven Queen for 10million jink. Which is a small number, in the grand scheme of things. Also, I assume the DMs understand this is not how someone achieves Godhood? But she could probably buy herself a title somewhere in the Abyss with that amount. Which wouldn't be too far off for a supposed Arch-Fey
C)
No, we do not play the NPC base, but not paying them due heed during the course of these events is tantamount to metagaming. We aren't allowed to steal from the Bazaar and say "The Harmonium are NPCs so only Harmonium players can arrest me as they are interested in my thieving"
So, which, if any NPCs, are genuinely interested in this plot line? The Factions have been referenced more or less vaguely, with more emphasis being placed upon the more 'militaristic' Factions. What of non Faction NPC's? Titania and Oberon? The other Seelie Gods? Hells, even the Queen of Air Darkness would probably step in if one of her proxies was causing mischief without her consent. I doubt QoAD would let 10k souls slip through her fingers without good reasoning.
ty ty for reading. This post is DIRECTLY aimed at DMs running the plot line. Not player opinions, not builder or scripters opinions, the DMs running the plot. This doesn't mean I don't find others opinions not useful or helpful to this discussion, but at the end of the day, if I don't hear from the DM supposed to be offering guidance on this plot, my questions ultimately remain unanswered.

So...maybe for the benefit of a new player, like myself...events could be summed up in a thread?Neethanial,Jul 11 2016 wrote: Barring, of course, new players, and events happening when players simply weren't online. But that's no one's fault at all. That's just unfortunate timing is all.

Serious question, what would the fey even want with Sigil?
Sigil is a big place with tons of factions that act like gangs with thinly veiled hostility for the others. A guttersnipe might kill someone and snatch their purse, then the collectors come and sell the body to the dustment, who then put them in the dead book and incinerate them. Nobody cares, business as usual. Legions of cranium rats are at war with each other under the streets, an ominous ruler floats around silently and randomly flays people, devils and angels glare at each other daily. A horrific place every day of the week where everyone is constantly on their guard to survive.
Any event would have to be pretty wide reaching and cataclysmic to affect the entire city, very unlike any city on any prime.
Second question, what are they even fighting about?
It would have to be truly cataclysmic if it's spreading all over the planes, quite a departure from the established lore. Fey machinations tend to be subtle and tricksy rather than outright brute force attacks on each other. There must be a reason for that beyond "well one court is good and the other court is bad, and now they fight" or some other dressed up version of the same reason. Is it bad if you're fey and you role play that the event doesn't involve you? or that it's a small scale thing?
Third question, is this an actively pursued plot still?
I haven't seen anything about it even in glancing for months now. If it needs a conclusion to make people satisfied rather than left lingering then maybe give it a conclusion?
Just some thoughts from an outsider to it all.

Time to insert 2c...
So yeah. I'm not sure "someone make a journalist" would solve the issue. Because there are only a handful of people who are in the plotline week after week (For other people who get involved, it's more a 1-shot thing) and unless these people are your character's friends (Usually. Exceptions apply) you don't get access to the full story.
Same for "Ask for the chant." It sounds good in theory, but from experience most of the time when you ask someone in such a plot what the chant is they'll just say the usual "Not much".
I know it's not this particular event, but for a while I played a SIGIS journalist. And not a tabloid-journalist either, a serious (If opinionated) journalist (Deidra Dawnstar). There was a big, important plot going on ("Sanctuary" in Undersigil village, some lich or another trying to do something evil or whatnot, etc. Never got all the details.) She was actually pretty involved in it at the start, and would write about it in the SIGIS whenever something came up, because well, it's a really really important thing. She also asked other people to communicate any information they got to her so she could spread it. She got.... nothing. Not one person contacted her.wrote:I don't think that's a good idea. It adds more unnecessary "keep updated" work for builders and event makers. If someone wants to write to SIGIS, fine, absolutely. Go for it. That's everyones own prerogative, but I definitely want to maintain events as unbureaucratic for DMs to do as possible, as to keep them coming.

Unintended roleplay is my favorite kind of roleplay.Strawberry Jam,Jul 12 2016 wrote:Morthos planting an Athar flag in Celestia that was unnoticed until a later EM event in the same area led to so much unintended role play.
