I still seem to be unable to get in.

Sorry, Animus and crew! :(

[Edit: I could get in through Gamespy, but via direct connect. *shrug* Last night I could do neither.]

It seems that the server has been assigned a new ip address. I thought the server was down for hours yesterday since I usually direct connect. I checked on it using the favorites tab and it said it was off line. There wasn't a lot of people posting that the server was down, so I want to the gamespy roleplay list and there it was.

I haven't had any problems since then.

you can also use direct connect to scod.game-server.cc which should work after ip changes... but I don't think you can favorite on that adresse I'm afraid <,<

To those that use direct connect: one problem with this is, apart from the IP changes, that sometimes the server has just crashed and people log in right after it comes back. This is bad, because it only takes longer for the server to restart properly then and it seems that also tends to make it more unstable (or so it's been claimed). After a crash please check in gamespy first what kind of ping the restarted server shows and wait until it has stabilized to some low number before you log in.

*nods* rushing the server can drop it again..
I've seen one poor server drop 3 times due to being constantly rushed.

Give it a chance to get close to the usual ping.More often than not it spikes several hundred to a thousand ms right after a reboot...

I agree with and support pelhikano's statement on waiting a bit.We dont want to cause this server any unneeded strain.
