Got a question myself. I've tried to do things with the toolset, since i used to do some nice area designs in nwn1 back in the day. But this toolset scares me, it's complex and insane and it crashes, freezes, fights back and refuses to cooperate. Are the server's toolset designers for hire?

Does it still count as housing if the entire thing is public?
Like a character buying a building and opening a bar?

I'm gonna ask a few stupid questions, as I'm sure the answer is in a post some where. as a example of what im asking What are the chances of adding a wizard tower to a zone or even a plane of choosing? I know it states in that article about adding a player-owned-home to a plane among other locations, just not sure the flexibility on where, and how even from that detailed article.
I know If I was to create a home in the Toolset I cant add exterior to it, so going back to my previous question and expanding on it, It says somthing about a DM adding a working door. Is that a existant building with a door aleady placed, or adding a door to a building and then making it interaction friendly?
these are a few questions I have of the many.. maby I'll bend others ears with such questions later on when I have the chance haha.

I apologize for doing this to you, but can you elaborate on your answer. is that tied to the first or second paragraph of my questions, or a answer to both?Lucadia,Aug 29 2016 wrote: well your place could be just a portal with a key attuned to it. Instead of a placed door.
EDIT: i'm not trying to be that guy that keeps pushing, but I'm just getting all of the details I feel I need to know before I make any desidions on a player home. I hope you understand ^^

As long as the house is not in a place where mobs spawn, it should be fine. Talking about doors: you can either choose an existing building (a builder will create a transition to your house) or let the builder choose an exterior appearance for your house (of course you can suggest what kind of exterior you want). You can also have a portal as door, but remember that the key must be an item any player can access to. That basically means anyone can enter your house.DaftyXIII,Aug 29 2016 wrote: I'm gonna ask a few stupid questions, as I'm sure the answer is in a post some where. as a example of what im asking What are the chances of adding a wizard tower to a zone or even a plane of choosing? Ok, thank you for the response.. and yes as expected im sure, I have another question from what you informed me. So the portal key sounds like what I had in mind concept wise on what I'm looking for. Just wondering tho "If"i had a locked door inside, lets say to the bedroom. Is it possible that some one with the ability to pick locks can access it if one was not careful with the design of the house? If that is the case I would or the builder of my choosing would have to place traps around her and there to prevent unwanted guest with malicious intent. or are there another ways of protecting a home open to the public?. at least room specific wise deep withing the house is what I'm looking for more or less.Neerepha,Aug 29 2016 wrote:You can also have a portal as door, but remember that the key must be an item any player can access to. but yes I'll be asking plenty more questions I'm sure as I think about this, so just giving a warning if you where to respond haha

Okay, so special houses.
Having a wizard tower is definitely possible, although it's something that's going to need to be made to fit with the area you're adding it to, and also remember that a builder is going to have to rebake the walkmesh. If you can find an unoccupied building that has the look you want, that is always the best means.
As for portals, do remember that this will put you into a considerably higher pricing tier. With that said, however, again the key itself will need to be either something that can be purchased from a vendor, or is a non-super-rare drop on the monster drop tables (so no making your key a flame volley, for instance). However, once inside the entrance area, you can set your doors to be opened by key only (and here I'm talking about an ACTUAL key that only you and those you choose to give one to will have).
