Daul router? I have a router, modem, Wifi Acesspoint, and gigabyte switch.. When I hear Dual Router i hear two routers hooked up to same network one serving the acesspoint for Wifi, the other for the direct connections.
With my Statement I'm curios if that's what you mean by Dual Router Issue.
two players sharing router.
Ah ok, good to know.

When two players share the same router and don't do the port fix (5020 to 5021 for one party), all Limbo breaks loose. Last time someone else's account was shown as being logged onto my character, and people were possessing characters like they didn't own them. It... gets dodgy.

I'm curios how that works honestly. I know this game is 10 years old perhaps, but I would think with the help of the thriving community this can be fixed, I'm looking at post they are going back a bit. Call me crazy or stupid, but what about the possibility of something like, link each account/key to a API connected to the server making each use to one randomized but server bound uniqe ID to said Account/Key set to prevent this.. unless i'm misunderstanding the possible cause and affects that are more indepth then scratch this idea. I would think it would help/fix the issue aswell as unlock more flexibility for the server on what it does and can do. I'm just thinking outside the box a bit on this perhaps too much :P

EDIT: Also i'm no expert on the matter i just ranted on about, as all I know about it is what I've read about it... just saying

not server wide issue? It was causing havoc for a lot players last night with pcs posessing Lym everywhere or trouble logging in . Its been happening since last week also. new player was asking me why their pc was acting like an npc and getting double text/teleporting

I assume your asking if it happens on other severs? or you asking on the local machine affected?
from my experience on being affected and the reading on other forums the answer is both. The local machine seems to want to be in two areas at once, my computer gets one major preformance hit when affected. its just a hunch on the being in two areas at once as your camera gets shifted around from pc to pc and when out of zone you see the chat of both areas.

EDIT: I need to stop seeming so arrogant today in the forums haha like now. :P the curse of lack of sleep and being punished from it as you have to stay awake now to do things that must be done haha

If someone wants, you can put a sign right infront the portal where it can't be missed after each restart reminding about the shared routers. Since it seems that the news feed during log ins gets missed :P

I'm also going to be doing some more database queries for a while to see if I can find some of the candidates. But so far it seems to happen during awkward time for me to be able to really database search. So I might occasionally ask to see playerlist during those times, otherwise not a big deal. Might get in touch with people and some of them are going to be false positives, so nothing personal.

Oh and server is down currently, yes. Shutting down server manually was successful, massive latency is making restarting it much less co-operative... but hopefully will get that going sooner rather than later.

Server is coming back up.
