thanks for all the help i went the torrent way and it all seems to work patching the server stuff now hopefuly be able to play tomorrow

I bought the gog.com version myself, when I found out the patches were no longer being hosted officially. I never regretted it, since that version came fully patched, had all expansions and Westgate, and had not a trace of the Securom DRM from the disk releases.
It also included most of the libraries right of the bat that I needed to play, which meant I spent a LOT less time trying to troubleshoot the game. I just had to install it, download and install the client extender, and log into the server to download the files and play. This meant less time worrying about getting things running and more time to devote to RP and getting the game to look nicer.
