In a short while I'll be taking server down to upgrade the speed on the DSL connection.
Will post here after it's up again. Hopefully will be fast change, but not completely unlikely that it turns into a problem that isn't quickly solved.
We will see.
Router Upgrade

Partial success
Turns out that changing the router didn't matter since they also needed to change something in the phone central which might not happen for three weeks (now they tell me).
Luckily the new router works just like the old against ADSL, so server is up with new router now. It will be a while until the speed boost comes though (and likely, even though they say they'll give me good warning they won't, so server might suddenly go down without warning).
If everything goes reasonably smoothly however, it will be up again on the new VDSL soon after they upgrade, so just a new IP and no other big changes then.
