After the next reset will be you will be able to test out a new scry tool. Its still beta, meaning it will get some further improvements and ill be hoping for feedback.

The option can be found under your essence, just after the regular scry tool. (its actually there are the moment, but will not work until next reset.. at least that is my theory).

Next reset is in about 14 hours.

The tool is by default opt-out. If you have not opted in to any of the options (its set on a per character basis and will persist between resets), then the tool just lists the character name and gives default values for the other info (ie: Unknown).

What can you allow others to see?

1) Level (including ECL) - ECL is displayed in parenthesis after the level. eg: 7 (9).
2) Location - will allow others to see the area you are in.
3) Build - Yup, it will tell others your exact build. eg: Fighter 4/Wizard 5/Eldritch Knight 6 or whatever.
4) Playstyle preference - You can set whether you prefer to RP, grind, or several other options.

EDIT:

5) It will also note if someone is AFK. ;)

You mentioned that this scry tool is in Beta. Will playing with the options of what data is shown need to be reset between versions, or will changes we make now be persistent between versions?

Options should persist.

It keeps spamming me a ton of information about myself, presumably everytime someone uses the scry tool, as a player character to be specific. Not sure if that's intended.

It's doing the same to me too. I thought it was just people trying to scry me but I doubt players would keep trying when they already have the information. Was only six people on but I got spammed probably twenty times in the hour I was online.

I'm guessing it's reporting it everytime anyone is scrying rather than trying to scry for you in particular. That'd be the only thing that could explain the frequency for me.

When I try to perform an advanced scry, it still just tells about myself. I'm amazed nobody else mentioned about this.

And its fixed i think.

I'd stupidly got two variables switched, so when you ran the scry, it would send the scry to the person it was determining information for.

Its now live on the server.
